Making my decision on basis that I’ve owned both a Jeep Wrangler (JK) and a Suzuki Sidekick. I’d own the Sidekick over the Wrangler any day, so I’d probably pick the Jimny over the Gladiator as well.

If this were sold here I could no longer say I’d never be caught dead owning an SUV as there would likely be one in my garage. No, there would be one in my garage. And I could write a page worth and still not be able to fully convey the joy it gives me that this has two, and not four, doors.
Then there’s the three star EuroNCAP safety rating, which is a tad worrying. It does have front, side, curtain airbags and only scored low because it lacked more advanced active safety features.
I will never understand the enduring popularity of clicking on an article for a subject about which I have no interest for the sole purpose of commenting about how I don’t understand how people have an interest in said property.
Morality and power without accountability. A hero’s journey. Badass magic swords. A space opera with American values steeped in pseudo World War imagery. Slave Leia. Scruffy looking charming rogues. Big explosions, witty repartee.
They do it here too!!! The is a huge company in Colorado delivering to the Denver metro area and Colorado Springs.
Might I suggest calling it the Typhus instead.
Yes! The milk from our farm goes to a local dairy that has a lot of them, and there are bigger players that operate nationwide. Mostly in glass bottles that are then collected, washed and reused many times over.
They should really consider doing this in the US, but with beer.
Mitsubishi needs to license and swap the Suzuki badge for a tri diamond yesterday and print money selling these in the states. Guarantee if they made it over here they’d eventually have a 4 door version as well. Would immediately buy.
Ken, you should ship that test Jimny over to me so I can give you my impressions. Also, when returned, it may look like an ‘87 Samurai, but trust me. Totally the same truck you sent. No reason to check the VIN tag.
Luckyyyy...
Maybe Honda or Toyota could brand label the 1200cc version and bring it to the US.
This would be a perfect first car for a 16-17 year old. The lack of power means that it’s pretty hard to do anything stupid, but Kei cars are the easiest thing in the world to drive. Add in the practicality and the incentive to go outdoors and do things other than look at your phone with this vehicle, and I think…
Dimensionally I have no idea, but the Polo has four doors and a useable boot. The Suzuki has two doors and no boot with the rear seats in place. But I love that the boot is wipe down-able for the dog... it’s also such a good buy $25,000 NZD for the manual!!!
I really want one of these... but we need to buy a bigger car to replace my wife’s vw polo not a smaller one. And then out of the blue my wife is like “hey those are cool, I’d let you get one of those” now I’m working out how to make a tiny little Jimny work for our family, one 4 year old, one new born and a Labrador…
Correct. 2.85 Million in just under 50 years.
It reminds of a smaller version of the 1st generation Isuzu Troopers and Mitsubishi Montero’s. The boxy ones.
