No, standards are lower nowadays.

I must be getting old.

Looks awfully advanced for something thought up in the 30s. I look at that thing and think it’s from the 60s, maybe 70s.

Interestingly, since the mid-2000s, there has been an annual traverse of vehicles and supplies, mostly oil for the generators, from the McMurdo station to the Amundsen-Scott station and back. The vehicles that enable this journey are much more mundane - mostly off-the-shelf tracked tractors. They drag their own living

The edgy card game had a racist at the helm? Shocking.

This one was sabotaged by its own marketing. It’s far better and deeper than the one-joke, boiler plate animation trash that the trailer made it look like.

Pretty sure the CBR was just towing the Odyssey out of trouble.

I am of the Martin Prince school of “Bester over Bradbury” and would love to see an adaptation of Stars My Destination and think it would lend itself very well to the screen (considering it is basically a retelling of a book that has had multiple film versions). I don’t think you’re gonna find many people who would give up their washing machine.  Dishwasher is nice but it’s not as nice as a washing machine.

Wouldn’t say that was rotten luck. It was hugely successful, and I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than Breath of the Wild.

Still have mine
