Ted’s Frequent Liar Miles

I bet they gave him a stern torquing to.

Uhg, eat shit Joan. Lets see you sing better.

The always invert setting was one of the best features of the 360 interface, and I have no idea why they dropped it.  It’s too bad that it’s never coming back (which is how I read the marketingspeak of their answer)

I love hearing those kind of stories about technical challenges and problem solving in videogame design. Hook them to my veins.

“The movie is fine"???

Man - I can’t disagree stronger here. There’s negative things I can say about every 343 Halo, but I had a ton of fun playing them and I’ve had a ton of fun replaying them, and I would absolutely rather have them than not have them. I don’t want the lack of a perfect Halo to mean a complete absence of Halo.

...and that’s why I don’t play multiplayer games...

Um, no, you’re not reading that right. I’m saying that pressing a button on a controller to kill a real human being is no morally different from pulling a trigger on a gun to kill a real human being.

The difference between regular island hopping and dreaming is that nothing that happens in dreams is permanent, so players should feel free to wreak havoc to their hearts’ content.

I definitely think one of the downsides of so much information sharing around games, is that push for more “optimal” or min-max commentary from people.

Nobody is telling you that you can’t enjoy whatever rewards you want to enjoy but if we look at this Museum Event with a fairly objective view it’s pretty much a let down, especially comparative to May Day.

agree, I kinda liked the event. was something unexpected and not time demanding. I placed the plaques at my home and my kids also wanted one. So as a developer I love those little details added in the game, not everything needs to be something big like may 1st

That is so true... as someone who has played Animal Crossing since its Wild World incarnation, I can’t understand the hate for Zipper T. Bunny—in New Leaf, he’s a minor annoyance but hardly creepy, and you learned to just ignore him. Now, it seems like he’s the most wanted criminal of the month or something.

Agreed. And I think this post misses the point of the event entirely.

Cheers to this! This game is more a low-key agrarian therapy simulator than an actual game. Trying to apply metrics of what’s “best” and what’s “worthwhile” feels out of place - every single person’s version of “playing” this game is going to be subjective.  And that’s ok!  I’ll be honest, I didn’t know that

Well said.

And just to be crystal clear: My goal with this blog was more to express befuddlement that IMD, a significant annual event, wasn’t given the same due as previous events, like Earth Day or whatever the hell Bunny Day is. The last thing I’d ever want to do is try to convince you not to stop liking something

Absolutely spot-on.

Yes, yes, Obama was relentlessly surface level. When GDP was in decline and the unemployment rate was over 10%, turning the economy around and bringing unemployment under 5% was surface level stuff.
