And then McCartney got mad when MJ bought the songs. And MJ was all, "Well, Paul was too cheap to buy them himself!"

I don't really mean money-wise. It's near impossible just to be allowed to play a Beatles song, that doesn't even include the cost. Obviously Jagger has clout to get the permission. But if Mad Men fit the Beatles into their budget, Vinyl certainly can. They clearly have a bigger budget.

I didn't either until they told me :) And then of course, went back with the camera to take pics. Lennon would have been better in a "blink and you'll miss" capacity — honestly, I think most of the celebrity cameos would play better as "Easter Eggs".

I don't consider a bump here and there a "binge". What I mean is those sweaty, cocaine freakouts that Richie has been living in up til now.

When I heard that, all I thought was $$$!!! I felt the same way when Mad Men played them. Even after all these years, it's jarring to hear a Beatles song on television like that, because it so rarely happens.

He looked okay, but the voice killed it for me.

YES! It made me want to jump into my TV and join the party.

Don't worry, I really want it to be good, too. Which is why I (and probably everyone here) has been slugging through the entire season (and watching it first-run). At least for me, I'm very happy about last night's episode. Hopefully, a turning point!

Hey, they can't quit cold turkey now, can they? At least there was no sweaty, out of control Richie coke binge this week! Progress!

More of this, please!!! Without question, the best episode of the season. (No coke binges, say what?) Perhaps one of my favorite parts of this series is the relationship between Kip and Lester. And that final scene, I'd have thought it was one of David Mancuso's Loft parties if it didn't look like a basement. Either

You don't like chrome and the color of puke???

YES. More Kool Herc and birth of hip hop, please! Also — "Finestra Coke Chronicles" ! Love it.

When the show was first introduced, it seemed like it would be a grittier 'Mad Men' set in the 70s music industry, instead of 60s advertising. OH how I wish that was the case.

I'm watching for the clothes and the interiors which are pretty flawless (I'm a sucker for 70s design, I am not too proud to admit that).

Don't forget Walter White ;)

I agree. I think the relationship between her and Kip is actually sort of sweet and a nice break from the sweaty coke binges. I also really love Andrea, a total badass. I want to see more of her, too.

Right? 'Mad Men' still made things interesting when Don Draper was sober. Richie is a drunken, coke-headed mess and 'Vinyl's gotten boring as fuck.

I had such high hopes for this episode, I am ready for sobriety. But then the end just killed it for me. The best part was Elvis, who was definitely better than most of the "faux cameos" we've seen so far. But given that it's not hard to find an Elvis impersonator, it's not like the producers had to try too hard to

This might be my favorite episode so far. The 'Another One Bites the Dust' montage was great.
