So lets get this straight here.
90% of buyers and I’m sure most dealership managers aren’t basing their pricing or expectations on car youtubers
The key is Uber cannot tell them when they will work. Unless Uber gets to set their schedule they are contractors.
I would never pay for another first class ticket if I knew that I could get one just for being a rewards member.
Uber can’t make you drive on any particular day.
But Uber drivers don’t have to work... they can pick up people when they want. Using their own cars. Uber doesn’t give them shifts to work.
Correct. In a world where the standard rule is “every empty seat is a free for all after takeoff” there will be melee near first class as people try to nab the empty seats, especially on long-haul flights, resulting in fights and inevitable delays/diversions (beacuse you know we can’t have nice things).
It’s also important to point out that the seat isn’t the only thing included in the ticket. Even a Comfort+ seat comes with free alcohol and nicer snacks.
Uber offers them a choice of pickups. The driver can choose to accept the job or not. The driver can also turn off the app and not work at all. It is the very definition of contractor. California is trying to solve an intractable social and economic problem by redefining work. If Uber and Lyft are put out of business…
If employees can choose when and where to work they are contractors.

I just rolled my eyes so hard I literally died.
Sweet! Golf R performance but without the stigma of looking like an adult.
Once saw one in white, I would make my plate “1SHMAEL” in a heartbeat.
The Celica TRD hood spoiler was always pretty ugly and weird.
Same here. I learned left-foot braking first, and I still drive that way, but only in automatics. When I decided to buy my first manual last year, I began to right-foot brake to get used to it before making the purchase.
Seems like a lot of hate for left foot braking here, but I’m with ya. My GTI has the DSG transmission, so I have 2 feet and 2 pedals and I’m using them both. As a few comments read, “you could just not tailgate”... relax, I’m also watching you in my mirror so I don’t get rear ended.
Hello everyone. My name is featherlite, and I am a left-foot-braker. I started left foot braking from the very day I learned how to drive as a teenager. Being exposed to karting didn’t help much either. After a while it just felt so natural and normal to left foot brake that I found myself doing it all the time. On my…
I wonder what % of people who specify no manual because of ‘traffic’ actually know how to drive a manual or have owned a manual before and feel like they have to give some bs excuse in order to not be perceived (in their mind or otherwise) as a ‘real’ enthusiast
