The problem that most people and the entirety of Hollywood has realized, is that the world has already hit peak "comic book movie" saturation, which is especially annoying to Hollywood, who've invested truckloads of cash into movie rights.

That's all well and good and everything, but.....

You know, whatever else about the 2005 film, Chris Evans totally NAILED Johnny Storm perfectly: A cocky, womanizing showboat who LOVES he can burst into flame and the first of the group to embrace their lives as celebrities.

The difference between a good villain and a tragic hero is nothing more than whether or not he's the protagonist.

"Pay a man enough, and he'll walk barefoot into hell."

It's not that critiques don't matter on deviantart, it's that you have to understand that the majority of people there are only doing art as a hobby, as a way of expressing themselves or having fun, and have no desire to seek improvement or go professional with their art. To them, some random person coming up to them

Thanks for the cliffnotes. You're right though.

I dunno, I just watched Birdman, and Keaton's rage on the female Broadway critic had this fresh in my mind (it was also the climactic theme in Ratatouille). Even the worst piece of shit art is still miles above the critic deeming it so. This guy drew these characters and put them out on the Internet, THE most wretched

If you want to provide your critical feedback, why the heck are you doing it in a comment thread on Kotaku? Follow the clear links to the artist's Deviantart and continue your admittedly vindicated rant there, where it actually matters.

I mean, from my experience. My only exposure to Big Hero 6 was the early trailers, which didn't point any of that out. So when it happened in the movie, I was generally surprised, but that's not to say I didn't see it coming.

Almost all of these don't convey who they're supposed to be. Other than drawing well while simultaneously drawing cringe-worthy archetypes, I'm not sure why this is even being highlighted by Kotaku. The only thing Disney about these pictures is that the title has the word Disney in it.

I learned how to value my time. Early Everquest raids were days long, and after seeing my college grades dip, I learned that, yes, even when you're not being paid, your time has value.

Seriously? You guys really want every superhero movie to have the same damn tone? Marvel movies are good but why not have something different for other heroes? People call Nolan's Batman dark and gritty and everyone repeats it without any idea of what that means. Is taking the material seriously and having a realistic

I mean, I get your qualms. As an artist, I agree. All he'd have to do is give him a track suit jacket that would be billowing open to show Gaston's manly chest (5 dozen eggs), or hell, even have a track suit jacket wrapped around his waist (I don't get the orange striped number)....but still, meet the artist halfway,

This looks more like Singer's X-Men than it does Nolan's Batman. Also, Marvel is the house Jon Favreau built, not fucking Whedon.

Joss Whedon's comic book movie was shit, though.

Well, thank the Maker that Joss Whedon could build on what Jon Favreau started in Iron Man.

God damn Nolan Frank Miller making everyone think super heroes should be dark and gritty...

nah, damn the horde of hacky imitators who bought into that. Nolan was spot on with his interpretation of the Batman world.

Gaston and Phil look like they're about to rob a house on Christmas Eve that has a kid staying home alone in it...
