ALL of the Jurassic films have a big focus on romance and family.

Definitely the first film, but try not to watch the 2.0 version. It has these integrated CG scenes which, while look cool, are jarring next to the original animation from 94. It pulls you out. I’d watch the second film Innocence after. Some had issues with it, but I felt it followed up the first film better than SAC.

It all depends on what you’re playing for. To me, if I knew I’d be able to make those tournaments, knowing the schedule, I’d figure it’d be worth it. That’s just me though. I figure the pay-outs even things out, especially since this would be my profession. I think it’s the perception that Maynard was grinding hard

Your comment shows you may not understand the nuances of the situation as it unfolded at the moment he chose that card. You want to make this about a power struggle and it’s not about that. If you wan’t to listen, I can try to explain it further to you. It’s not whining to have wanted to make a different choice based

We need to stop people from claiming other people are wrong for having a dissenting opinion. That assertion only hurts open debate and dialogue.

Thank you. You have made my crap day better.

No, the butthurt is strong with other Pro players, and I can understand their logic. Personally I would have kept the Goyf as I’m not a pro. Just someone who likes MTG.

Duchon? No he isn’t. He has only qualified for a single Magic Online Qualifier Series. He has nothing else of note in terms of points or anything else. He is not a 6 time GP top 8 like Maynard who is second in Pro Points behind Alexander Hayes and works for Channel Fireball.

So you would nuke somebody’s analysis of why the Pros were upset? So people can’t have different opinions?

Nah, I know what a GP is. I typed the wrong words while I was writing. I did mean PT here-

I appreciate that. Personally I would have taken the Goyf as well, but then again I’m not a Pro. If by some chance I made it to the Top 8 and pulled it? Yup, I’m out.

It’s a fair question. One I had when I read that he lost to the same card he passed. So how many? Ironically, 3. Out of 24 boosters. So a total of 345 cards, minus foils and lands, only 3 showed up. Out of the players that took it? The one he passed was directly to Duchon as noted by the MTG officials and the recaps.

You are correct and I don’t disagree. There is a lot at stake with the choice. Once again, people were asking why some were upset. My analysis is a long those lines. If I were another Pro, what would I choose? Maynard himself noted to the camera while choosing that Burst Lightning was a better pick. He noted it again

You could, if you don’t factor in a lot of other things. Like value for playing the tournament till the end and wining. It’s not about the one tournament. His standings in terms of the game places him second on the World Points. Which means that by winning he would have locked up about $30-$40,000 in prize payouts

Fair enough. It was really weird situation to watch explode via Social Media as well.

Oh okay. Thank you. I’m sorry I’ve just gotten a lot of really upsetting responses for trying to explain the other side of the arguement :-\.

Why ugh? Please explain without attacking me for answering a question about why other people are upset?

Ignorant because I answered someone else’s question? Judgemental because I can see why other people had issues with it? Wrong based on what?

The card, foil, from that set is worth $350. The highest a Tarmogoyf is worth is $2,000 as a Japanese foil from the original set (Time Spiral).

Oh I thought we were past the internet rhetoric. I’m not lying but oh well.
