JE SUIS THAT BITCH
JE SUIS THAT BITCH
That sounds like a great time.
“It was so lovely. Anyway that’s all I really wanted to say and it’s not exactly related.”
The best festival I ever went to was at The Farm (hippie commune) in Summertown, TN back in 2000. They used to have these festivals each spring called Unity Fest and everyone would camp out and there’d be all different kinds of workshops and all night raves. I went roaming around one morning and saw an old man sitting…
I had the doily dress for one of our homecomings (I think it was dark green). I had the sequin dress for 1995 senior prom. Silver like a disco ball.
I went to the prom in 1994 and 1995. I have tried on these dresses. I have been in these stores. My 1994 dress was red, strapless, to the floor with a slit. Sequined across the top. My homecoming dress from winter 1995 was going to be like the Black and White Jessica McClintock, but another friend wanted that dress,…
My mom and I made my dress together (and when I say we made it “together” I mean I quickly got bored and she made it). It was a satin number with a corset top and big full skirt.
Me too! As soon as I saw the picture of that cover, I could actually smell those old issues of Seventeen. Cheap perfume and glue. I think this one is still sitting in my bedroom back home.
This made me a little teary-eyed. I went to my first prom in 1994 after pouring over every issue of Seventeen magazine since 6th grade when my mom bought my first issue after I got my first period. I would read YM and Sassy at my friend’s houses, but I always stayed loyal to Seventeen. My first issues had Nikki Taylor…
All we wore were doc martens, man. We couldn’t handle a heel any higher!
My mom totally sucks. And the prom committee had NO CLUE that the club was a gay club when they booked it. I would guess that the majority of the people who were at the prom had no idea what the giant pink triangle on the dance floor and the massive rainbow flag hanging above the bar were all about.
All the cool girls were wearing those skinny sequinned gowns. Me? I wore a dress I amateurly sewed myself. Plain satin, laced up the back with a big chiffon ribbon. I even sewed my date a matching vest and tie out of my leftover material. I was awesome!
I tried on that fireworks NADINE dress. I vividly recall it at this moment.
So. Many. Chokers.
SHOUT OUT NADINE
