Glad he made it.  Looking forward to the new show.

More people need to watch Cop Land. It was so good and it’s still so relevant.

He just qualified for full Social Security benefits.

How about his cameo at the end of Hannibal, in which he (spoilers for a 20 year old movie) is fed his own brain at the dinner table.

Very sad. Goodfellas is one of those films that if I stumble across it on TV, I’ll invariably watch it until the end.

I’m also glad they didn’t end with ‘The Train’, and even more glad they didn’t waste time this episode on Rebecca’s funeral service/eulogies. I initially thought it was a little weird to have Rebecca sign off at the end of the last episode only to come right back at the beginning of the finale, but it made sense in

Bump to B++ for young Kevin mimicking Jack.

Overall, I liked the finale. As a father, I choked up during Jack’s speech about collecting little moments. I think there was also a lesson for all of us in the montage of parents pushing their kids on the swings - we are all capable of creating those little moments. They don’t have to be grand gestures to be

I laughed more than I cried (again, will someone please cast Susan Kelechi Watson as a comedy lead?). There were times when TIU overdid the angst, but this season really stuck the landing. I don’t know when we’ll have another network drama like this.

Not too many tears shed this week compared to the Miguel and last week’s episodes. A sweet ending to the show.

Letterman is the best. The. Best.

Letterman is goofy (that’s his brand), but the interviews on this show are excellent and have good depth. They even often make me feel sympathetic towards people I don’t care about or actively dislike.

For me it’s been Cecily’s show this last 10 years

She had a heart infection related to heroin use IIRC. I distinctly remember being in college and reading online that Natasha Lyonne was dying, which has made her comeback over the last 10 years surprisingly life-affirming. Slums of Beverly Hills and But I’m a Cheerleader are an enviable career, and now she has decades

I think the takeaway for this season is that Michaels needs to be looking for writers instead of performers. I think the remaining cast is capable, but they desperately need material.

Complications from her drug problems- there’s a bit about it here.

Ah, but even the last in class will humble brag that they went to Harvard at every opportunity.

The way they not only setup Rachel Finnster, but kept coming back to her was just excellent. It is saying something that the guy who killed his grandparents didn’t have the darkest timeline there.

i’ll be the third to say sarah squirm’s weekend update bit was absolutely the standout, and i’d love to see her behind the desk permanently when jost and che leave. she’s awesome.

You guys wrote like eight posts about the Sara Sherman Weekend Update bit, it was genuinely funny but it doesn’t make the cut? I will never figure out modern AV Club logic.
