Good lord, someone feed Anya Taylor-Joy a sandwich. She looks like someone glued matchsticks together and wrapped them in paper mache.

I watched like the first 30 minutes of Extraction, until it became painstakingly clear that it was fell into the familiar category of a foreign production that spends nearly all of its budget casting an American star, and is only barely competent in every other respect. Anyways, Hemsworth was *very* serious and dark

I think the reason for Matrix swapping places with Batman might just be that it’s more advanced in production, and there’s less risk of it slipping back. They’ve already filmed a bunch of things, and they’re filming in Germany right now, which has a relatively good handle on the virus. Batman seems advanced because

Depending on how meta they want to get, maybe Screech is in the clink for stabbing a guy.

You’re absolutely right about that, and I don’t think it’s fair to SNL’s cast that they keep stunt casting their best roles. But I think it needs to be said that Jim Carrey is an exceptional talent at all the things that make a good SNL cast member. He’s maybe lost some of his spark with age (as did Eddy Murphy, maybe

Maslany is one of the most versatile actresses of our generation... but she’s 5'4" and rail thin -- Hulk? I’m not familiar with She-Hulk from the comics, is there something that I’m missing?

As someone who is a fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek (imagine such a thing), I don’t think its a fair criticism of Star Trek that it’s overburdened with unconvincing CGI, nor do I don’t think it makes sense that Star Trek should want to be simple, in the same way that Star Trek is.

I’ve admired Pedro Pascal’s work as an actor in every role I’ve seen him in (he was awesome GoT and literally stole the show in Narcos, originally as a supporting player and then becoming the star the next season). If he’s also a good human being—which it seems like he is—then that makes me really happy.

I don’t think Dale had anything in particular to do with breaking the crack story—he was a City Hall beat reporter, and the story was broken by the investigative journalism team of Robyn Doolittle and Kevin Donovan, who watched the cell phone video. Dale started fact checking Rob Ford, who had a (then-unique) habit of

which makes them trademarked elements still controlled by the family

I would watch 5 more Nolan Batman movies sooner than I’d watch someone like Snyder take another turn at the wheel.

I think it’s maybe a little bit different when the character you’re bringing back is an antagonist. The antagonist who fans never tire of matching wits with and defeating is as old as Sherlock Holmes.

I know you’re joking, but The Rock and Vin Diesel hate each other. And it’s actually reflective of how bad the chemistry is between several of the leads (a couple of them do play well off each other, but its the exception more than the rule), and how little it matters to the Fast formula. If you pay attention to the

The only way in which Star Trek has ever worked as a movie is by drawing on the charisma and chemistry of its characters, pressed up against adversity. The TOS and TNG movies benefited from the fact that the characters had been developed and the chemistry of the actors had grown over the course of years. They just

Sex poetry has gotten much less subtle than the days of “Genie in a Bottle” (the double entendres of which I was completely oblivious to, as a pre-teen).

I’m beginning to doubt that you watched more than the 30-second teaser trailer for season 2.

Well, you’re half way there.

I agree that the biggest issues with the show last season were plotting and pacing, but I don’t agree that the cast was universally strong. Or at least their strength did not shine through in their characters. Vanya, Allison and Luther were dull as dirt, whereas Claus and Diego were dripping with charisma, and Five

I’m no insider on these things, but from what I’ve heard over the years, the designations are somewhat arbitrary, and calculated by whomever submits the performances for consideration (the producers, I guess?) to serve a particular objective. Jeremy Irons as the lead of Watchmen is batshit, but the limited series

She’s fantastic, though awards for comedy probably skew towards the more eccentric characters (more meat on the bone for the actors chew into), and hers is maybe the least eccentric of the entire cast.
