I think it’s less (at least for me) that I’m bothered by her going full mad queen then the fact that it was done so abruptly. I agree she always had the makings of the next mad queen but at the time in the show she wasn’t even close to there yet. It needed AT LEAST another 2 seasons of her rule to let the slow descent

I mean the sad thing is, he’s not, the Zoolander joke was inspired by a real collection that John Galliano did for Dior in the 90's.

The reality is that Kanye doesn’t design any of this (I know someone who designed part of his forgotten about first foray into fashion) he just gives his team prompts (which is usually

*ahem*

I was going to say that he didn’t innovate anything. “Let me introduce Derelict!”

So he’s just ripping off Zoolander now?

I almost wish he’d been a bit weirder in the movie; Keaton still reigns as the most genuinely eccentric-seeming Bruce Wayne, IMHO.

I was honestly curious, because I don’t know where “watered-down goth emo” enters into Good Time, Cosmopolis, High Life, or Tenet, among others. But it would semi-accurately describe his work in the Twilights.

Dowd flourishes his cape and disappears into the dark of night one last time. Godspeed, sir. Until the critic-signal appears in the clouds again, we’ll be watching.

A.A. taking a bow with a solid B, on a superhero film no less? Now I’m real excited

Farewell Dowd. You and basically everyone working at this site were so much better than J/O Media deserved.

everyone’s problem with every batman movie (particularly before they see it) has always been the casting, going all the way back to keaton.

Dowd, I’m glad the last movie you reviewed for this site was a halfway decent one. I’ll miss your good work around here.

Have you seen Robert Pattinson in any non-Twilight movies?

I grew up in Madison, birthplace of The Onion, so it was always readily available around town in the 1990s. Taking the print copy to lunch every week through out college was my routine, and the AV Club eventually became the main attraction. I started reading the online version in the mid-2000s when I moved and the

It’s baffling how much Kinja seems to actively hate its users.

And if it’s even possible, Kinja actually got worse over time.

I started visiting regularly around maybe 2010-ish, when I had a friend on Facebook who kept relaying jokes from the TNG reviews written by Zack Handlen

I want to say I first started reading in the mid-2000s. I didn’t comment for a while because you’re spot-on that at that point in history you better come prepared because that was an educated crowd. I learned massive amounts about music and movies from other commenters, things I’d never heard of that are amazing. I

Fwiw, I’m sorry to see you go. It does feel like the passing of an Old Guard (that I, like many around here, am watching with trepidation) and we’re losing even more tried and true talent like yourself. And I can understand where you’re coming from with the grading thing; if you only give an A sparingly, then that A

Theron’s description of the events paired with her apology (because of course she’s apologizing) sets you up for typical “actors being fussy dickheads with each other” nonsense, but it really does seem like Tom Hardy was a completely inconsiderate asshole who revelled in disrespecting the cast and crew by wasting
