The notes from Johnson’s meetings with Warner Bros. probably sound a lot like Homer in “Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie”: “Whenever Black Adam’s not on screen, the other characters should be asking, ‘Where’s Black Adam?’”

I mean, 10+ years ago, I’d have been agreeing completely, but I’m sorry, he’s redeemed himself.

It’s no where near as good as Shazam 1.

The fact that we got 2 Shazam movies and a Black Adam Movie and there are no connections between them is mindblowing!!!!

Yeah, everything about Black Adam screamed ego-trip. DC bungled everything they could have done with Shazam. They didn’t realize it would be the hit that it was and had no plans to do much with it.

I don’t know how long others may have held this view, but it seems to me that Dwayne Johnson has proven this Dark Knight adage to be true:

I think, and I made a version of this comment on AVC, it would have been much better for all involved if Black Adam had been the heavy in a sequel to Shazam. It was teed up in the first film and all that. But Dwayne Johnson and his ego intervened.
