But the “liberal” archetypes aren’t exactly endearing either. Wayne is, though I hate using the overused and annoying term, a definite wimpy cuck. The FBI agents came across as feckless bureaucrats.
If only GMM or the television show had been planting seeds for years and years about Targaryens going crazy and burning shit to the ground. The only thing that surprises me is how many people are surprised.
Technically, it is Needle Point Break.
Speaking as a wealthy zombie with a zany sense of humor, you can just piss right the heck off.
Significant shrinkage, Jerry!
Yes, television would be so much better if every character exhibited sensitive, woke attributes and were model citizens.
Huh. I quite enjoyed the episode. I am fairly simple-minded, though.
I agree with you.
That’s actually what I kind of love about it. It hearkens back to the very original Star Trek. Good old fashioned SciFi is much more interested in telling stories with universal truths and deep themes than scientific verisimilitude, and I kind of dig that The Orville is fully embracing that tradition.
Ornithological interest does not make one a loser! Nice catch.
Shh. Don’t tell the commentariat that this show is and always has been a televised comic book. It is supposed to be “Serious Television” with “Deep Themes.”
One slightly subtle thing I really enjoyed was how they show that despite their mutual disgust and distaste of each other as people, Suzie and Larry’s world-views are almost identical. Her agreeing with Larry’s beliefs on apologies, gratitude and restaurant mores was fantastic. Clearly, they butt heads because they…
I really enjoyed most of the episode, but the new bishop’s hairstyle is driving me crazy. There was no mousse in medieval times!
B-!? The “tiny homes” are actually trailers joke alone bumps this to B+ territory. Loved it.
I think the show is doing something kind of interesting here. Yeah, Larry is a giant asshole - and he treats service people and other “minions” like garbage. But he knows he is doing it, is shameless about doing it but at the end of the day always ends up running away when he crosses the line (did anyone else notice…
See, this is the sneaky little reason that despite its objective worsening, I still am pot-committed. The Walking Dead IS a ‘cartoon’. For fucks sake, it’s based on a COMIC BOOK. Did it sort of almost kinda look like “serious idea tv” a couple times in its first few seasons? Yup. But at its heart, and in its creation,…
Huh, I actually quite liked this episode. Maybe it’s because one of my job duties is to monitor social media platform comments, but I thought it was interesting to see virtual bullying, online mob mentality and the vagaries of basing character on snippets of others’ lives taken to its logical, dystopian conclusion was…
A fellow J school graduate and I got a job at the same small rural city newspaper and had similar shenanigans that I am often chagrined at looking back now. One year, we were covering a sub-state girls basketball game between teams whose mascot names were the Beavers and the Clippers, respectively. When the Clippers…
