Outside of character design, Toryama's involvement is hardly a guarantee of quality.

FFVII, nearly 3 decades old, tells a better, more coherent story, and has better gameplay than these cash grabby remakes.
Having watching a lot of Conan (mostly during the Late Night era), I don’t think this indicates that he knew anything about Masterson, just because he’s used this type of line with a lot of guests. It’s possible - it’s not like I could know for sure - but I doubt it given just this clip to go on.
In the UK, there’s a US-born comedian Jerry Sadowitz. He’s got his own controversies. Well before anyone else did (1987), Sadowitz called out Jimmy Savile, much like Buress did Cosby. Savile was a much loved kids TV presenter (Jim’ll Fix It) who was just simply awful.
(Admittedly, somewhat cynical) translation: I got my bag, and the longer this remains available for purchase, the more liable I am for the obvious and blatant copyright infringement the game made its fortune on.
Which, to be clear, I don’t really begrudge. I doubt this dude thought this game would ever have the…
Yep, to clarify here, when you have lower access to points in a multiplicative damage bucket, each point is disproportionately more valuable. Previously we had so much vuln that it was possible for it to actually be better to run something else. With it limited, and vuln/crit their own damage buckets? They’re now…
The dev comments in the patch make it seem like they don’t even know how their own game works. The nerfs to crit and vulnerable damage just make those stats even more necessary on gear, not less. Now you need it on more pieces and higher rolls where you get it.
You’re obviously acting in bad faith, but just for the sake of it, no, this is not how “bait” works. “Bait” would be if I wrote an incendiary headline that dishonestly portrayed the issue, and then prominently exaggerated things in such a way to raise the ire of your ilk.
I think you’ll find if you do some introspection that you’re actually racist and mad about Phillipa.
It’s desperately sad, and concerningly telling, that you could perceive this observation as “outrage.” And perhaps you might want to aim your fury at the show you love so much, for making the same point themselves.

I feel like this entire article ignores every little bit of Drake’s Breath.
Sorry mate, but you failed completely to prove your thesis.
....you’re playing a game of semantics.
I’ve played pretty much every FF game that’s come out (with the exception of a few of the spinoffs) and I feel like since FF12 they’ve been steadily pushing away from the things that I’ve enjoyed in prior games. It’s not just the combat system that makes an FF game, sure, but it feels like a lot of these games have…
I never particularly liked that combat system. In part it’s because it’s a remake of a game with turn-based combat that I liked, so it’s annoying that they removed something I liked about the game, but also because it’s a weird hybrid where they tried to cram traditional RPG elements into a real-time combat system…
Yeah The problem with SQENIX is mostly their creative minds have a completely different vision than what long time Final Fantasy fans want.
Ever since the Bouncer for PS2, it’s been obvious Squaresoft has been seeking a more Cinematic Approach to storytelling. What Made FF Famous is both a mix of its storytelling…
I really don’t like how uninvolved the party members are
Glad I jumped off after 12. Even if the games are good they’re not the kind of games I want out of FF. But I get that they’ve gotta keep the brand alive somehow.
Almost everything done to expand the story in the VII-verse has been poorly done and clashes terribly with the original! But even setting aside the argument about continuity (which I don’t really like using in discussions of bad writing) it’s not a good story or good world-building... Other than the ending! My…
