Yeah, the extreme jump in graphics absolutely justifies the jump to a new chapter instead of a new season. This also retroactively accounts for last season being kind of disappointing, as they were clearly moving the bulk of their effort to finishing this visual overhaul.

IMO it’s best to play the game sporadically rather than regularly. I always fall into the loop of playing the game for like 1-2 months, then it starts to get stale, then after 6-8 months there’s a huge update, then it gets stale again.

i need to tweak some settings, I just let it autoset everything last night, but performance was kind of ass on my 3090. my wife plays on a 1080 card and we did tune down her game to lower settings, but it was still pretty choppy. No build mode is actually one of the best reasons to play the game. You can focus on quests and exploring without worrying about constantly harvesting for resources

While still disappointing, I don’t find it very surprising that a developer from a country in which 98% of the population share the same ethnicity and culture struggles to grasp the depht and importance of representation issues.

FFXIV could be so much bigger and more popular of SE gave it the funding it deserves.  Instead they are starved for graphics designers and many cutscenes go unvoiced and have generic animations.

I really hope Sony is smart and makes it PC compatible. The PS5 Duel Sense is because they finally acknowledged people also wanted to use a PS controller on PC. This would help it sell so much more and be a better buy for people who have both a PS5 and PC.
