Yeah, I just noticed and gave up looking for my posts.
Love the JL/JLU universe stuff and agreed, they hold up really well (will prob rewatch it, yet again soon), though finally watching Batman the Brave and the Bold, and it holds up pretty well too.
Certainly could’ve been a lot better, but I still really enjoyed JL vs The Fatal Five due to the nostalgia.
I guess they’re out of ideas and hope no one notices how derivative and nonsensical it is?
My thoughts exactly when they first introduced the concept. It totally defeats the concept of going back into the past to change the future.
Predators doesn’t really hold up well under scrutiny that’s for sure. It’s kinda like Tenet, don’t think about it, just go with it!
Just re-watched Predator 2 last night, and even 10 years ago when I re-watched it, I still have the same opinion: that it’s aged horribly.
Yeah, that magic thing with the building took me out of it. Like, why not just use it to fling the guards all over the place, so you didn’t have to actually fight them. It’s certainly not as exciting and cinematic as various fight scenes ofc.
I think seeing another planet slowing crashing into the one you’re on would kinda break that illusion that doom wasn’t coming.
I’m at the part when Leland proposes to the mom. And in that same episode, he had her make copies of a document for him, and she sees absolutely no problem with that nor finds that remotely sus, on top of all the other stuff her daughter has told her.
Yeah, I’m watching Season 1 right now, and am getting fairly annoyed at that writing trope. Also, Kristen not like, documenting or recording EVERYTHING, knowing someone is purposely meddling in her life maliciously is a bit maddening.
Yeah, I’d say Loki > WandaVision > Falcon and Winter Soldier
This was brilliant. That is all.
Snyder is a bit like M. Night, great examples of how NOT to make a movie. So many dubious decisions....
The montage was def a bit of a head scratcher. Like, that’s gotta be the most interesting part he montaged over! But no, let’s do a zombie heist movie!
As someone already said, maybe we should try taking responsibility first, before decrying it doesn’t work and acting defensively.
“Either acknowledge that you said something dumb and apologize or have the stones to own it.”
Snyder totally ripped that part off from the sequel to Train to Busan, which I admittedly didn’t finish. Though it was patchwork of other movies, like Aliens or I am Legend for example.
I kept thinking the daughter needlessly got everyone killed (she just was an idiot who endangered the mission by coming along and hated her dad for what seemed like conflicting reasons/bad writing), but then remembered it was the douchebag from Deadwood/the 4400 who everyone kept saying they didn’t trust, to him…
