I didn’t know what the story was about, so I had no real expectations, but still the first episode was pretty bad. Dour, overly serious (I’m looking at you Thor Jesus), and worst of all boring. Family squabbles are extremely uninteresting if you have no investment in the characters, and diving right into one in the

All the costumes look like shit, it’s sort of embarrassing.

Oh lord, the costumes are really bad look. Def cosplay-esque. Worse, the story, at least the first episode is pretty boring.

That’s his other movie I don’t really like. It felt rather over indulgent, even for him. I planned to rewatch it, though never got around to it.

I wasn’t a big fan of it either, though that might have had a lot to do with it aging poorly over the years and seeing it for the first time as recently as last year. I do like the rest of his movies with the exception of Moonrise Kingdom.

I’m guessing that’s a plot point too, can’t just be some zany one-liner.

And a bit of a psycho. She was pretty eager to dissect Spooner’s brain, lol

Preventers Assemble!

Praise Beebo indeed!

USA!

Better question, why would a phone ringing be a sign of anything other than a phone ringing? Like do they not use phones? That part seemed forced.

I feel like I’d be the only one who would enjoy a show just with Sam, Bucky, Zemo, and Sharon set in Madripoor, hustling, fencing art and kicking ass.

yeah, the lack of Asians in what’s supposed to be an Asian city took me out of it a bit, but it made up for it with all that C Y B E R P U N K aesthetic (even if it felt like it was just on an antiseptic set).

Imagine Telling On Yourself Like This

Yeesh! Most WKW movies aren’t for popping on right after work to relax or for cheering up 😅

lol, I just learned that word today on the interwebs! Pleonasm!

I’d say Chungking Express doesn’t match up tonally with Days of Being Wild, In the Mood For Love, or 2046. It’s more similar to its sister movie, Fallen Angels, which I’m guessing you’ve seen.

yeah, that’s sort of why I canceled my membership many moons ago. At the time, the streaming service wasn’t nearly what it is today (plus I rarely used it for 2 years).

Grandmaster is the lone movie of his I haven’t seen yet, but my favorite probably is Chungking Express, then maybe Days of Being Wild and 2046.

That’s still a thing??!
