“Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy reminds me of Anthony Bourdain.”
“Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy reminds me of Anthony Bourdain.”
yeah, such a weird take on that “kiss”.
well, thank god for that.
Every fantasy, medieval, or LOTR FB group I’m in is bubbling with dog whistles cause they saw a black elf. It’s like an alt-right wank fest. It’s pathetic.
It’s a bad tv show/movie conceit, taking off his helmet all the damn time so we can see his face (yet Mando doesn’t fall into this), especially as a crime boss everyone is trying to kill, so you’re just giving everyone a nice clean target.
well...Luke’s essentially a small town white boy from the boonies...
Wolf Children is fantastic, def watch it out of the three.
I love the Girl Who Lept Through Time, but I’d rate Wolf Children above it; it’s fantastic.
“but with grown men who should know better.”
Oh damn, that was Bushmaster?!
The show got Americanized (and poorly - just look at that script), but that would explain why some people really liked it and others really disliked it, as the characters and tone are geared more towards Western audiences.
Kate is basically Batman’s backstory (If one parent had survived) and Spider-Man’s personality combined.
Out of the bottom shows, I thought Helstrom was the only one that was ranked rather low. The rest were def meh.
AoS being 9th is a testament to how strong the MCU shows have been of late (plus its initial 1st season probably brings it down a bit). Though I dunno if Falcon was better, and Luke Cage’s 2nd season was a bit dull.
What struck me as odd, and a bit unfair, is almost every character in the show has been altered a bit to fit the sensibilities of western audiences, yet they leave the most difficult character to portray the same. Definitely an unwinnable task.
The Ghost in the Shell live-action made the same mistake, with Scarjo announcing she was “the Major” like every 10 mins. There was a point to that, a rather awful one, but it completely destroys the character of the Major from the anime (who is a strong, confident female protagonist), plus she never solely went by…
lol @ bargain-bin Hugh Grant.
Not really sure who thought it was a good idea to put a character like John Bishop in this.
Eh...Robert Rodriguez has been successful doing comic/anime adaptations from Sin City to Battle Angel. It’s certainly not easy, and there are far more failures than successes, but it shows it can be done if you have the right team and vision.
You def aren’t 😅
