Who was wearing that?

THIS. I totally agree, and it's incredibly frustrating to hear "enlightened" gamers act this way. It's insulting to me and a culture I am proud to be a part of.

If you read the materials, they have always been open to having all come.

Gay fashion designers (big list), gay musicians (Queen, Scissor Sisters, Frank Ocean, etc etc), Ballroom culture, Drag and drag families, gay writers, gay artists, gay actors, gay directors, etc etc.

Ok, well then you don't understand what is really going on with Gay identity. You've made up your mind, and even though you are wrong, that's cool.

And just a heads up, this month was GeekGirlCon. That convention is just as valid as Gaymercon.

Dude, you're gross. Just all around, you're gross.

Thank you. This is how people should be responding. "Cool, this is inclusive. Hot damn, maybe I'll go and have fun and make new friends." or be like "Not my jam, but it's not hurting me, so NBD."

This gets to the core of the problem. You do realize that gay culture is really REALLY deep, right? The LGBT community has made as much contributions to art, music, film, even games, as people of different races and creeds. This isn't about sex, this is about a group of people developing a culture in face of

So what if everything here was "black" as opposed to "gay?" Seriously? Should black colleges go away even though they accept other races? Women or race-focused scholarships?

Considering the physicality of gaming culture, more likely not. But whatever, I'm not going to make that value judgement.

There isn't segregation. This event has, from day one, been for LGBT people and their friends and allies. It's always been an exclusive event designed as a place where a marginalized group can feel safe. This isn't segregation. Segregation is a forced seperation between two distinct groups.

Then make one. Not really that big of a deal. "Straightcon: a convention for straight people and their straight allies." Now don't you feel like a special butterfly now?

Because gay identity is not all about sex. It's about a culture of people who still feel disenfranchised by gamers. No offense, but gamers as a group are not accepting culturally progressive people.

Fine. Do it. Make the convention. So what? You have a good time with people with similar backgrounds not having to worry about antagonism. And your problem is?

I have zero expectations that the people commenting here are not close-minded asshats who couldn't act without bitchy entitlment.

I LOVE JIZ. It's hilarious. This and The Most Popular Girls in School are what happens when drag queens have too much time on their hands

Dude. She's a dude. That's the point.

I would have fun with it, or maybe make the theme about cosplay in general. Can you imagine the Jem and the Holograms options?

I like Pandora Boxx's version of Alice. I wish they would do a videogame episode of RuPaul's Drag Race.
