I hate using cases for my phones. I find they tend to cause more damage (don't protect in a serious drop, cause more drops due to gangly size, get sand/dirt undercase causing scratches), and they are ugly as fuck.

I remember hearing about this on Fresh Air or All Things Considered, and it didn't sound nearly this dark.

I haven't been following this show, but is this as good as Fables? Because I know a pilot for that was filmed, but it seems like that show missed it's chance in a now saturated fairy tale market.
