Amen, sister. Come. The. Fuck. On. Why is this by prescription only? It's not like we haven't been shoving tampons into our hoo-has forever. I'm pretty sure we could figure this out. Sigh.

Okay I was excited about this until I got the the “for prescription” part. What is this shit? Why would this need a prescription? I’m in the pill but it would be novel and nice to be able to just buy my BC at the store and not at the pharmacy. :\

ETA: I was thinking this would be nice to use as a secondary form instead

Honestly, it seems more like the men’s team players are overpaid, rather than the women’s team being underpaid. Why is the salary cap for a sport most Americans don’t care about or watch over 3 mil? I know it’s small potatoes compared to football or basketball, but like you pointed out, it’s a league that is

Revenue is a sexist pillar of the patriarchy.

Her eyebrows sure are being what they want to be.

She’s only 22. :-)

omaaaaggg that eye makeup is so gorgeous!

These “deeply held religious beliefs” arguments couldn’t be more transparently bs if they tried. Unless this same bakery refused to sell cakes to couples where one or both partners were divorced, and thus living in adultery according to Jesus, then they are pretty selective about their “deeply held religious beliefs”.

The defense in this case is really simple. Just show the judge where in the bible it says not to bake cakes for gay people. *mic drop*

Like 50 years of civil rights and anti-discrimination legislation. Where have you been?

If $135,000 seems like a lot just for emotional damages, it is worth noting that the baker did not just refuse them service. She also published the couple’s names and home address on the Internet and encouraged people to harass them. So there was much more emotional damage than just refusing them service.

There was just a similar videographer case here. They explicitly told the couple why they wouldn’t work with them and did apologize (sorrynotsorry) that their beliefs wouldn’t let them work together. Even as a staunch ally, I am dumbfounded that the videographer didn’t just say “sorry I’m booked that weekend". I know

There used to be a time when you kept religion and politics out of business. A “Christian business” is understood to be a business that sells goods or services that are directly relevant to Christian interests. A Christian bookstore, for example, sells books dealing with Christian themes. If you’re going to claim to

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 happened. Since then, it’s been illegal to refuse service based on a customer having a characteristic that is part of a protected class. A few decades later, Oregon made sexual orientation a protected class.

It’s funny how the conservatives are all about “states’ rights” until they don’t like the law the state made. Then all of a sudden they’re all about the “constitution.”

As someone living in Oregon: I am completely ok with this fine. If this bakery had declined service to someone based upon race we would not be concerned that $135K is too high to send a message.

I do sort of feel for the bakers. I mean, after all we all know that the original translation of Mark 6:41 reads:

I approve of the “War on Christianity”. This shit is giving me such delicious schadenfreude!
