Uncle Doug sometimes forgets these things, because his brain is filled with boundless levels of questionable Land Rover knowledge. (For example: the transmission in a Land Rover Freelander lasts 14 percent longer than grocery store bananas.)
How dare you imply that I bought the X1 xDrive 35i not because it's an SUV (based in the E91 platform) and the only 300hp wagon (I mean CUV) you can buy in its segment. I like the ground clearance.
2 & 9 absolutely do want.
This would be a fun one to own, no doubt. I would own it until just before the clutch replacement (ouch - $$$$).
In my first few trips to the 'Ring, I loved trying to go faster than my talent allowed. My wife reminded me where Adenauer Forst was (where a lot of fantastic fail videos happen) many, many times so that I didn't become an internet sensation. Kudos to the spousal co-driver :)
Clearly the T-47 is better suited to cold weather operations.
Love all the articles, I've been following similar criteria when I do my car shopping. Although I'm just expanding my collection. It is quite hilarious that folks think I blow a fortune on my rides but I spent less than a new Focus ST. And have more fun.
IT'S ABOOT DAMN TIME!!!!
Wow, definitely completely forgot about the last body style. I had one as a forgettable rental five or six years ago, really didn't register the GXP version. I would rather have the previous gen myself.
Meet me at the Nurburgring. We'll compare times against my E90 M3.
I might be lacking in my GM knowledge, but I had no idea they made a V8 version of this. I always thought the supercharged GTP was the biggest one they made.
Classic Mini:
Great summation of the year! Now with a replacement coming, will it be more or less flashy? And in a few years will you have forgotten all the cons to this experience and get the F430? :)
Fantastic flip! I've been looking forward to reading this one for a while now. It was certainly worth it to see it go from the grave to the road again. Kudos to you and I am definitely keeping an eye out so I can get myself a nice DD quality example that might need some love. Great inspiration.
Nice suits.
Very.....interesting. Looks like Z4 grilles.
Wow, they still make this?
Any road trip in a free car will be amazing. Provided you don't wake up in a bathtub full of ice and no car. You can do a road trip without a kidney, but not without a car.
Time will tell, but low production numbers vs the coupe and the E36 sedan vs coupe market are all signs pointing to it.
