Netflix has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to The Frankenstein Chronicles, a series starring Sean Bean reimagining Mary Shelley’s novel as a supernatural crime drama. Bean plays John Marlott, a war veteran and river policeman who investigates a corpse stitched together from the bodies of several victims.

Ohh that could be a cool twist. The Canadians are the real spies. Like the Kingsman and Statesman are the muscle, while the RCMP are doing all of the real work to identify and stop true threats.

Kingsman 3 really, really, really needs to reveal that the Canadian version of the Kingsman is really the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that that they have been hiding in plain sight all along.

I liked that movie. Ang Lee’s direction had some cool effects, some of which were made to replicate comic book panels, as seen here at about the 0:36 second mark,but really prevalent during action scenes or the subsequent desert arrival scene in this same video:

It’s hard for me to imagine feeling anything about The Incredible Hulk, let alone hate. For better or worse, Ang Lee’s film was interesting. It was a mess in many ways, but it took stylistic risks. There was a distinctive voice behind it. There were fights in giant bonsai trees, Hulk poodles, split screens, deep dives…

Luke Cage was, for the most part, phenomenal. Diamondback was a complete dud, but Cottonmouth and Mariah were just phenomenal entries into Marvel’s villain stable. Plus, Colter is just so, so likable as Cage. Most of the cast was just really well handled.

Next up, an origin story for the shark in Jaws.
