they certainly do have the capability to do their own engine. they designed, from the ground up, the 919 engine which was equally complex to the current F1 engines and more complex than the 2026 engines.

whether they wanted to is a separate question.

it is FIA and F1 that are saying no (granted the teams are throwing hissy fits). the concord agreement explicitly allows more teams to join (after payment of an anti-dilution fee) and only the top 10 teams get a revenue share.

I bet it they took a pole at any NASCAR race the numbers would be in the thousands.

Andretti should team up with Porsche.

I’m sorry, but how is she, in any way, a legend?

she and the bro dude were just there as eye candy hosts, reading canned lines on a car show advertising Chip Foose. she knew nothing about cars or mechanics, had no creative influence on the cars or the show...

Motorsport also had a pretty good article on it. total shit show.

they thought that neither of their potential drivers had any other alternatives and felt entitled to Piastri’s services.

all the whining about loyalty...  if they wanted loyalty, it was on them to follow through with their promises regarding finalizing

do they not have unlimited mileage in Canuckistan?

they clearly pissed off both Alonso and Piastri, and clearly Ricciardo didn’t have a lot of confidence when he bailed to go to McLaren.

the Ocon move doesn’t make a lot of sense, he is a decent driver, but not someone you build your team around, so signing him to a long term deal must have been driven by his being

he was never going to drive for Alpine after the tweet. The CRB kerfuffle was Alpine trying to put themselves into position to extract money from Piastri/McLaren in order to allow the move.

well, yeah, it’s a station wagon.

but the 76 LTD is the end of the 60s era body on frame big block v8 muscle-wagons, whereas the sable/taurus were the heralds of the new generation, truly transformative to the idea of what the american family car could be.

totally different generation.  not even in the same category.

never liked the shoebox chevies, but I am a fan of the 2 door wagon concept.

so you and your old high school science teacher sold Meth, right?  is that you Jessie?

far from pristine, the seller even calls it a 10 footer.

bet all the suspension bushings are shot, the water pump and alternator are about to go, looks like a repaint, so you might be ok there, these were known for the paint peeling off, especially the metallic paint ones.  the interior is just about to go on this one

1976 Ford LTD station wagon.

oh, the 3.8 will live forever. it is the rest of the car that will collapse around you like a costa rican sinkhole

is the rear wing a delete option?

chevettes were RWD.

at this point “supply shortages” are almost entirely due to manufacturers choosing to under-order and/or keep the market hungry.

initially they were caused by panic cancellations of long lead items, but that was 3 years ago now and 2.5 years since it was obvious to all concerned that that was a mistake.  there has

if you pay $3-4k for this $1K car, you get what you deserve (a shitty car that is going to shit the bed in about 10k miles. these cars were engineered to last 100-120k miles and then fall apart)
