wow, you are thick. yes, the current ranger will do everything I need to do (and more) but is TOO FUCKING BIG.

the old ranger would do everything I needed, but WASN’T too fucking big

this new Maverick will not do what the old ranger could, leaving me stuck with something either doesn’t meet my needs or something that IS

so, how is this any better/different from the ford Transit Connect or the FCA equivalent?  looks like the same size, just uglier.

I have always used this method, but not because of car talk (which is the best radio show evar), I independently came to this method and have taught at least 5 people this way.

I got real world 20mpg highway driving ~70 with my ‘94 with the 4.0. and off road performance package (5 speed stick, big tires, LSD, 2" factory lift, no tonneau).

the F-150 at the time came with the 4.9 I6 or a 5.0 or 5.8 V8. the I6 got maybe 17 and the V8s were more like 13-14.

it is not just about fuel economy, size

the 4.0 with the tow package could tow 5760.  you could easily tow a 19' travel trailer or a car on a flat trailer.  you could also throw on an add-a-leaf or airbags and a heavy duty trans cooler and tow even more than that.

this reminds me that we are only 3 days out from the worst fucking day of the year on the internet.

why oh why can’t they just make a new old ranger? something that was legitimately compact, but could still haul and tow significant loads?

this will be perfectly fine if the harshest thing you do with your pickup is home depot runs for a couple bags of dirt and a sheet or 3 of plywood, but if you actually want to do

I still can’t believe you aren’t going to at least upgrade the front brakes to factory discs.

the death wish is strong apparently.

it was not a “Falcon 9 Stage 2 rocket” it was “the second stage of a Falcon 9 rocket”.  words have meaning.

the second stages are _supposed_ to burn up in the atmosphere (just in a more controlled manner), unlike the first stages which they (usually) try to land and recover.

I am conceptually pro union, but I have seen so so many shenanigans involving union leadership in so many industries that it is not surprising people are not always enthusiastic.

I am surprised that Jeremy Clarkson has not featured this in one of his many, many expositions on the beautiful insanity of Lancia.

ND. you can get similar condition, 10 year newer 1800s with fuel injection, more power, better handling for the same money.

the next climate crisis will be caused by the moon crashing to earth because we used too many tidal power generators causing it to slow down and fall out of orbit.

either that or the wind will stop blowing because of too many wind turbines.

hot take - this is the last good civic (or whatever year they last made the 3 door hatch with a stick)

everything else has been a sad descent into mediocrity (I say this as the owner of a 210,000 mile 2010 sedan that I love for its cost and reliability, but despise for being the most boring car ever made)

do PZEVs count? because PZEVs actually produce less carbon than the equivalent 100% electric cars or something like that...

#1 rule in any RV: “No heat in the bus”

for the same money, I can buy a 26 foot class C with 25k miles on it.  why would you want a clapped out homeless personmobile?

where in the article about the tesla crash does it say tesla ratted him out to the cops? not in your story, not in the detroit news article.

are you guys just full on making shit up now?

I again ask - do we have any evidence other than the driver’s word that autopilot was engaged in the detroit crash?

just because the driver says to the cop “I had autopilot on” does not mean it was on.

so either the people who bought it in 2013 or their insurance company own it. all sales after that are illegal and moot.
