the Z8 and the F50 are the only ones on the list that are remotely interesting.

the rest are either really ugly or total chavmobiles or both.

certainly less ugly than previous low end McLarens..

does it also have an integrated e-motor in the back end? the wiring diagram seems to imply it.

I also wonder why they went twin turbo for a hot V? the reason twins make sense on a cold V is to keep the headers short, but on a hot V that isn’t an issue.

10/10 would hoon.

but I’m pretty sure that’s a lambo, dude.

in general there needs to be a law limiting the height off the ground of headlights to no more than 30" off the ground.

modern pickups, especially the new GM abominations, have headlights about 6' off the ground which are fucking blinding to anybody not also driving a gigantic pickup.

visually, other than the flying buttresses on the bonnet being far too long and high, it is a nice looking car for the era.

it has already been fucked with (tranny) so slapping in a better motor, or hopping up the one it already has is not a crime.

$165k seems high for what is essentially a kit car with a famous

lets see, 31K for a bottom of the line Bolt, or 21k for a mid grade subaru impreza. I live in a state with no tax breaks for EVs.

the impreza is bigger and has more features and all wheel drive (i.e. a nicer car, which I can get with a manual so it is also more fun).

2nd gear: toyota is right for the near term. it will be 5-10 years before middle america is functionally able to go pure EV, and the up front costs without tax gimmicks need to be on par/have a less than 3 year break even vs a gas or hybrid car.

5th gear: fuck apple all day with a chainsaw.

rode hard and put away wet. too many “improvements” and too many miles at this price.

were it bone stock and clean then maybe.

fun story, when I was stationed in germany back in the day (late 80s/early 90s) I owned a 1st gen scirocco in that same red (but with a black/grey interior).  loved the hell out of that car, but

in the US the scariest driving is generally anywhere in the south where it doesn’t usually snow with 1/2" of snow or freezing rain. entire regions shut down for days until it melts and hundred car pileups are common.

but that pales in comparison to just normal driving in most third world countries.

keep the el-camino, put subaru BRAT seats in the bed, poof it’s a family car!

the popeyes chicken sandwich is massively overrated.

it is not awful, but it is generally greasy, not particularly flavorful, the chicken rubbery and the batter falls off the chicken.

I seriously don’t understand the obsession.

not when you take purchase price and maintenance into the equation.

a diesel pickup will never have lower TCO than a gas pickup, and it will have a much worse environmental impact too. diesels are terrible for emissions.

there are real capability reasons to want diesel, but don’t pretend they are ever, in any way,

lifetime fuel cost savings will never pay off initial purchase costs, much less the increased maintenance costs of buying a diesel.

nothing the driver does should ever require the driver’s eyes to leave the road.

touchscreens are the spawn of satan in cars.

we get it, you hate crossovers.

but the real reason people buy them is that they do not enjoy driving cars that are low to the ground when surrounded by SUVs and pickups. even in something like a Ford Fusion, you feel like they are going to not see you and drive over you.

not to mention getting in and out of a low car

so, was this a case usual case of guy buys truck that he wants, drives home and says to wife “Honey, I bought you a new truck!”, wife says “I wanted a new kitchen asshole”, shoots him and out of spite locks it in the garage until she dies (telling her family he R U N N O F T), then her niece who inherited all her cats

duh. trade secrets are not patents. because you took a patent it is protected. this case is about trade secrets.

this is exactly how it works. did you even read my comment? I specifically state “reverse engineering is specifically allowed for things not covered by patent.

a trade secret though is not “protected” by the law, it is “protected” by the company keeping it secret. usually most useful for manufacturing techniques or precise recipes for foods. chemical mixture ratios in batteries are trivial compared to seasonings in KFC’s batter (not at all kidding)

reverse engineering is

an otherwise bone stock looking 1981 Civic 1300DX.

um, by the numbers in your last paragraph the Audi is dramatically MORE expensive than the porsche... did you get the numbers backwards?
