By the Academy, not this comment thread and the internet in general, which also holds some weight on a person's life and reputation.

"But I was going to Toshi Station to pick up some guys, I mean, power converters!"
I haven't seen it -and would like to - but I'm sure you're right. I'm just saying, the politics angle of Hollywood and the Oscars has merit, even if I wouldn't have to-be-fair'd the guy's comment had I read further down the thread.
I'm not even that old, and I can still say my most recently viewed Spider-Man is Tobey Maguire and most recently viewed Kingpin is Michael Clarke Duncan. RIP, of course, but I remember his casting being as derided as the movie itself. That wasn't a knock on him, if I remember, he just seemed too nice to play such a…
Even though I disagree with this guy, it is true that Academy voters have confessed to not watching many of the movies they vote for, and everybody knows a great deal of it is just Hollywood politics.
You know near the end of the movie where the villain meets his end as a sad, lonely shell of a human being, and it's good that he got his comeuppance, but you still feel some sort of human pity for him? That's how I'm starting to feel when I see pictures like the one above. I don't wish death on him in any way, but I…
I still find it impressive that Toy Story came out the same year as Windows 95. Remember MS-DOS?
Separately, it seems Emma Stone found out along with the rest of us that there are two copies of said cards. She hinted at feeling suspicious at the explanation since she was holding the (presumably one) card herself.
True, but it seems he must have come down with something.
I agree with your sentiments and have been making the same arguments, so I'll eat the same crow. http://www.thedailybeast.co…
See, I don't think there's enough information to completely shun Casey Affleck, but at the same time, that's fucking disgusting. Is it possible to be case-by-case? I'm asking rhetorically, because in terms of mob rule, this seems to be a difficult distinction.
What in the living fuck does that mean? Those two things have nothing to do with each other. If anything, I would say that people like you are part of the problem that is turning us into such a binary culture in the first place, and ironically, the type that views people they don't agree with on any given issue as…
But why would one affect the other? Would you be more sympathetic to it if he lost? The whole idea of him being a 'fuckwad' in the first place is based on two lawsuits we know nothing about which were settled out of court. That could mean he's a serial harasser, or it could not.
Trumps calling Mexicans rapists was an immensely stupid statement that was denounced by almost everybody, including many people who would end up voting for him. I get what you're going for, but that's not the most apt comparison.
I think it's great that people are (or were) telecasting an alternate event to skewer him, but God, any other host.
Yeah. Quality episode of television, but just didn't gel well with me in the end.
This reminds of me of Tina Fey's remark after Ahslee Simpson lip-synced on SNL, and the kinship she felt with someone who suffers such an embarrassment and just starts doing a jig.
Fun fact: I was able to have the actual Soup Nazi soup (under the name "Soup Man") years ago when it opened up a kiosk in the Eaton Centre in Toronto. It's pricey - a large costs $30 - but we reacted exactly as the characters on the show. I've never had better soup in my life.
Bit of a patronizing comment, given that I just offered a personal anecdote to say that all religions or lack thereof deserve an equal modicum of respect and appreciation. I'm pretty sure that things like money and patriotism have also caused a fair bit of bloodshed, and I'm not getting drawn into this 'religion is…
..You don't think the two are connected?
