To me, it depends on how you look at it. In ‘21 buying a vehicle in cash was actually probably a terrible decision from a purely financial standpoint. Rates were at or near zero (lending rates) and are now at 5% (earned interest rates), that is a lot of opportunity cost.

The worse tag is the PA train heritage tag. I had one a long time ago, it was impossible to read, as the letters wore down fast, and blended with the rest of the tag. It was great for the speed cameras in Washington, DC.

This one, mainly because you should never have a web address on a license plate:

2015 Subaru Outback - there’s a 7" or so touchscreen that does nothing, really (since the “apps” are all worthless, so we never did anything after trying them out). It doesn’t do Car Play/Android Auto. And somehow they were so busy putting a non-responsive touch screen on the thing and loading it up with worthless

I disagree with all these statements. While those things are certainly hard to do, with enough research and preparation, they are certainly within the scope of a good do-it-yourselfer.

Look for DeSantis’ new “Don’t Say Hurricane” bill coming soon!

I’m pretty sure the author of this post has zero idea what the actual car market is like right now (or anything else having to do with personal finance really) because this is one of the best times to buy new over used if you can get a new car without getting screwed by the dealer. It makes no sense to buy used to
