Same here. Yesterday I wasted 50 regular balls, 10 great balls and a bunch of berries on a CP 860 Pidgeot before I gave up (Lvl 18). I was just going to grind him into a candy anyway, but my incandescent rage kept me throwing balls at him.

Does power save work for you? It darkens my screen but after I pull my phone up again I can see myself walking on the map but nothing is clickable. I just get the endlessly spinning grey ball in the top corner. It would be great if the feature actually worked.

I have the same problem. But it’s not nearly as bad as the app hanging whenever an egg is about to hatch. It freezes on “oh”, and I just say Oh sheet because it means I’ve lost my disposable incubator, my egg, and 5km worth of time.
