I believe they were all based on the 993/962....they just changed the bodywork with an updated 996 front end.

Shouldn’t be a difference between 03 and 04, but you want a car without PSM/traction control as that leads to issues.. Some prefer the base 5-speed trans over the gearing of the 6sp as well. Not sure on cruise control, but that wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me.

I want to NP this, but I can’t because it’s a 99 which required an aftermarket ECU. Personally I’d just be too afraid of the possible headaches.

Agreed, but it needs a better engine option. 184 HP and 221 lb-ft Torque is not enough in a 3800 lb AWD vehicle.

1st Gear:

Forget the 260, the JDM 250Z unicorn is where it’s at.

Clearly caused by the transition to all touchscreens on the front dash. Bring back the knobs and buttons!  

The fuel filler door opens in at least two different tests as well. Shoddy design!!!  No way I am buying one of these.

I forget what camera you are currently using, but Nikon is running a ‘free’ 30 day trial on thier new mirrorless Z50 camera.

While I like the 997 and will probably be in the market for one in the near future, I just don’t see any collectability or increased value unless you have an RS or some kind of limited edition. They just made too damn many of them (215,000 compared with 68,000 of the 993).

Yeah....some kind of ultra-capacitor (or as you said, two) and whatever extra juice you get can be used for passing/extra power.

I assume it’s for ventilated seats, but I can’t find that option for the rear. It actually says they are standard, but if that were the case there wouldn’t be a blank.
