tl;dr - did he ever get to the actual car review? Or was the second half of the article recipes for seafood risotto and pasta alla norma?

The were but they must have added more stock....available for sale as of 10:20 EST.

113hp and 2200 lbs. So, basically it’s a new Mk2 GTI.

I doubt there’s a Del Sol left on the planet that would have the clearance to get over that first grain of sand.

Now playing

Surprised you didn’t pick the Vanishing Point video....

I wanna call bullshit on this. That was the ONLY car down the entire street? Why didn’t anyone else park there? Also, why not just flatbed the car, and/or contact the owner? Gotta be cheaper than dragging an entire paving crew back out there again to pave 50 sq ft of road.

Nobody is hating. I drove a new 911 S, the twin turbos are fantastic and the steering was great as well, much improved over the first gen 991's I have driven. I’d lease one in a heartbeat if I had the extra cake. I just think the 997 is currently the best blend of old-school 911 with just enough modern conveniences

They already make one...it’s called a Cayman. Put four 50lb bags of rock salt in the trunk if you want to pretend it’s an ass-engined 4-cyl 911. If you are going to say something about rear seats, just take the money you saved and use it for Uber fares.....your friends/kids will thank you that you don’t jam them on

I’d forgo those stripes, but I think a 6-speed manual transmission 997 GTS coupe is where it’s at. The 991 continues to add bloat, electric-assisted steering, and now turbos.

Of course not...don’t they already have rules on unsafe vehicles like F1 does? It’s not like the pit lane would be physically closed. They would pull in the first lap and have to take some kind of time/lap penalty for pitting too early.

Le Mans. Same track, but you limit the pit window to once an hour, or once every 20 laps. Suddenly, that’s a very long lap, isn’t it?

Thanks for the insightful info that the cars don’t pit on every lap. I had no idea. I’m much more informed now. I was referring to the option of stopping every lap, unlike the older endurance races where the laps were 45+ miles (Targa Florio) and you thought twice about running at 10/10ths because you couldn’t limp

If it’s anti-climactic for you when ‘one of the teams’ retires overnight, clearly you are only watching LMP1, which now has only 2 1/2 teams left. What if there were 12 LMP1 teams? Would retirements be OK then, so you could watch the last hour? While I love a close race, Le Mans is an endurance event. 24 hours.

Agreed that it’s all amazing. The OP said that 24 hours is no longer enough to test these endurance cars since they are always flat out, and suggested a longer duration for the race. I suggested that they limit the number of pit stops (or have a minimum time between stops). It’s easy to run flat out when you have the

It’s easy to go flat out when you pass pit lane every 3 1/2 minutes. Limit pit stops to once every 30 minutes or 60 miles....you won’t see as much sprinting.

Agreed. Too bad they don’t offer the sportclassics anymore....

Would look better with some SportClassic wheels....maybe painted. A little Fuchs-inspired look.

This particular car had the model delete w/911 (it shows 911 on the rear deck, not 911 S), as well as the powerkit to get it to 450hp. I did notice that at some point they removed the red calipers and went back to the standard black calipers (wise choice for the understated look). However, I don’t see that option in

I haven’t seen one in years, but I think they held up pretty well. Just slap some new wheels on one...
