    The notch isn’t just for a camera. You also need to create space for a speaker so the phone can actually be used as, you know, a phone. And light sensors to tell when it’s against your ear to deactive the touch screen and adjust the dynamic brightness in different lighting conditions.

    Peugeot 306. Classic shape. Refreshing simple compared to the bloated weird shapes you get now. Rear lights are beautifully integrated into the body design

    It’s not just volkwagen that have issues with compliance to Euro 6d. The whole European test industry doesn’t have enough capacity to perform all the homologation testing, while gasoline particulate filter suppliers don’t have capacity to meet demand with declining diesel sales pushing up gasoline sales.

    I’m spending the entire weekend working on my opel speedster. Is that close enough?

    Minor correction, General Certificate of Secondary Education is GCSE which all 16 year olds take at the end of secondary education, A-level happens at the end of college/6th form at 18. Students typically take around 12 (give or take two) GCSEs while only take around three (give or take one) A-levels. It’s a stepping

    I’d expect a pre-production run would be stamped as such. It’s also a massive undertaking to switch from casting iron to ali, so i’d be surprised if they just ran off 10 then shut it down.

    “and its relatively large 2.4-liter engine, which was optional” wut?

    *ahem* Europe has had 95 octane for a long time now. If you’re wondering how a 2.0 L turbocharged engine can produce the same power as a V8. This is it...

    As is catastrophic engine failure, which usually happens around the same time you see massive spikes in metal.

    Blame Castrol. synthetic oil did used to be truly synthetic, however in the 80's Castrol took issue with that and took it to court, eventually resulting in group III base oils (which are highly refined crude) being defined as synthetic due to the amount of reprocessing.

    ICP/elemental analysis really doesn’t mean that much, especially the way Blackstone do it by comparing it to an average of all engines, all oils and all operating conditions. To get any value from it you should really set up regular sampling and intervene when you see spikes in your values. There is a reason that none

    The fact is the latest Euro 6c vehicles are compliant and produce lower NOx (NO2 and NO, not N2O by the way) than older gasoline vehicles. Clearly a 1970's diesel emissions won’t be good. Neither is a 1970's gasoline emissions. The best way to get these off the road is to incentivise the purchase of both clean

    Reminds me of the Lotus Bahar statement

    Cost looks pretty suspect too. I have flown between NY and London more times than I would like to remember, and of the flights i’ve paid for myself, they typically cost between 550 to 900 USD. A much better comparison of costs is available on wikipedia, extract:

    Looks more like a Mercedes SLS to me

    How is that tunnel big enough?

    So you do get oil borne microbes, but not worms.

    Not me, but a colleague;

    Renault don’t own Nissan, they’re operated by the same CEO to leverage logistical benefits. The value of the yen verses US dollar ruined Nissan; forcing them to make savings on the cars while maintaining the same sale price.

    The car’s will need re-engineering. The US DOT approval system is different to the ECE approval system. While most regulations have similar intents, there are different requirements which means significant and often costly re-engineering; headlights, crash impact zones and airbags are the obvious ones, while even
