Wow... that’s really kinda... half assed. Just a van with a couple of freezers bolted in it.

If the average person isn’t getting sick from said bacteria, isn’t that an argument that the way we’re all doing it is probably fine to just continue with? Obviously if you have allergies that’s an argument in favor of doing it more often. But not sure bacterial build-up is really the most compelling reason to get me

Sorry that I called you out, it was unfair to pick on your typo and you’re giving good advice. I’ve just been frustrated lately with the new withholdings after fielding daily calls from people that didn’t have any taxes withheld because they did their W4 wrong. It should be easier to get this right, most people just

Exactly. The idea isn’t that you should predict your withholding down to the cent, because that isn’t possible. The point is that if you spend a little time and get informed, you can figure out how to make it as low as reasonably possible, while still erring on the side caution (i.e. paying too much rather than too

Confused me? You’re the one that made the error. Someone that does their friends taxes should really know the difference.

This will attract those tiny, annoying flies when the weather gets warmer. I used to work at an office that did this.

Our goal is to be within $1,000 for Federal and $250 on state taxes each year. I’m fine paying that much or getting that much back. We keep enough cushion that an unexpected $1,250 won’t cause issues. (We got spanked a few years back when an employer of mine miscalculated my contribution and we owned well over $5,000.

You shouldn’t have assumed it was “this old trope” and read the article before commenting. Acknowledging that there is comfort and ease is just letting the IRS hold the money, it’s NOT that hard to dial in your taxes a little better - author even included a link to IRS website to do a checkup on your current status.

To the other commenters: It’s not all or nothing. You don’t have to try to get it down to zero. If you’re normally getting $3000, maybe you can get it down to $1500 and have a bump in your paycheck.

Get two ChangLi specials and strap one to each foot.

Being a car enthusiast IS the worst financial decision. I can’t help it though. I was born this way.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

That really depends on where you live. My wife an I moved to Portland, Oregon about 7 years ago and this is the first place in the 5 states that we have lived that has bike lanes Where we lived in AL and TN didn’t even have sidewalks so driving was the only option to get anywhere safely.

I’m going to make a counter-point in that these types of incentives need to also benefit the middle and upper classes.

Well, not whatever. You need some stamped steel safety rails apparently.

All vehicles must meet stringent crash safety standards and all occupants under the age of 18 must wear seatbelts. Additionally, side curtain airbags must be installed to prevent injury in a crash

Bad take is a bad take.

Kia Souls are fucking great and if Americans weren’t insecure to the point of frantically committing suicide via autoerotic asphyxiation while furiously sobbing against the backdrop of “Proud To Be An American” played on endless repeat, they would be half the cars on the road. I’m prepared to die on this hill, fucking

It might be worth putting a thermometer in there - maybe one of those with a remote display - so you could see what operating temps are up under the hood. I can’t imagine they’d be anything crazy, but it would help build your case.

I wondered about that, but, honestly, I don’t think so. The main cooling system radiator is low and pulls its air from below the bumper, and the top area is mostly fluid reservoirs, HVAC stuff that’s usually crammed into dash areas, and plastic mounting frameworks. Again, many others can do it just fine.
