Yeah, I know this is anecdotal, but the best my credit card gives back is 3% on gas or groceries... occasionally 5% on very specific things, like purchases from specific retailers that, of course, I do not frequent.

Because I’m so cynical nowadays, all I can think of is a little notice underneath the doorbell button that says “By ringing this doorbell you are agreeing to our Terms of Service.”

I’m also confused about the functionality across devices. Say I have Plex installed on the Apple TV and I tell Alexa “Ask Plex to play Star Trek”. Does the Plex app then open on the Apple TV? Also, if I don’t have the TV on, I’d need an additional step somewhere to turn on the display.

Like many things, it’s probably more dependent on your attitude towards the retail employee. When I worked in retail, if a customer came in “demanding satisfaction” I’d be less likely to deliver. But if someone came in and rationally explained their situation, I’d jump the moon for ‘ya.

My sister totaled the family car in 2009 and we needed a new one pretty much immediately, so we hastily picked up a Jeep Compass.

I feel the same way nowadays. The Windows PC I’m using today I assembled a few years ago with the intention of using it as a Hackintosh. Building a Hackintosh is easy, but (at the time at least) maintaining it and keeping it “updated” was a ton of work.
