It's very difficult to write about the effect music has on people, but I think Ehud Lavski came closer than most. Really enjoyed it!

Because Bunheads was so close to the Gilmore Girls vibe, yet wasn't the Gilmore Girls, it took me a while to really enjoy it. Sutton Foster is one of the most amazing performers I've ever seen, yet she wasn't Lorelai. But by the end of the first half-season, I wanted more. There are a few shows that only last one…
The problem with the fifth movie is obvious, regardless of whether or not anyone even wanted a fifth movie: it hits every single point it needs to hit competently. The soul of the first two movies (and at times the third) was replaced by a machine-like practicality with less humanity than the Terminator itself, so…
The first movie was clever, even if the ending didn't make a lot of sense (seriously, who's going to lie perfectly still for hours on end, evidently without the need to take a breath, just for a punchline that no one will know about unless you're a character in a movie?).
I did it all for the Sookie!
I think she's one of the best actors in television, and I was sobbing all through that incredible scene, yet at the same time I kept thinking this was the episode they'd submit for Emmy consideration. I think it was the line about not knowing if she even liked her own kids, which sounded so frank and "The Emmy Award…
Modern Family is something I watch when I'm looking for something harmless and mildly diverting. I don't mean that as an insult; there's a lot to be said for pleasant diversions. I thoroughly enjoyed the show when it was firing on all cylinders, but I never understood the backlash when it wasn't, mainly because it…
I can't see a reality where I won't keep watching this show, and I often disagree with the grade because it's too low, but this time I will admit that the grade was too high. There were some flashes of brilliance - "I hurt" being the best - but most of this episode felt like really bad filler. And yes, the ending was…
I do love that song.
Someone's gonna cry when they know they've lost you.
In other news, Richie Cunningham wasn't actually a teenager, but a character played by well-known actor and future director Ron Howard.
I find it strange, to say the least, that of all the things you've listed, I'm the most excited about "Westworld". For some reason, I've always found the concept amazing, and when I finally saw the original movie a few years ago, I wasn't disappointed. Yes, it and "Futureworld" are kind of cheesy, but they're also…
Dude, of course it's gonna be good, you're in it. How could it now be good? I mean, everybody wants to see it, it's gonna be amazing, yes, no one is talking about it now, but that's just because they are so incredibly excited they can't express how excited they are. I mean, seriously, you're Batman! And when you fight…
I'm actually torn about that. I'd like it better if I could pause the autoplay instead of having to wait for the next episode to actually start before being able to pause.
I hate to be one of those people, but it actually got worse. If she had at least reread her review before submitting it, I know she would have corrected her mistakes. I love AV Club, and this is not what I normally see. I could maybe count on two fingers articles that had glaring mistakes, and I could count on 0…
All three excellent episodes! While I loved the pilot of the show, I think the first time I realized just how amazing the show could be was this conversation in 'Prophecy Girl':
I'm curious. Does anyone actually edit these reviews? This review starts with the sentence "Until the final moments of “KSR,” is shockingly low-key for a finale of any type." Then I read this phrase: "as his and Alicia’s relationship, good or bad, was been one of the cornerstones of the series".
I'm such a baby. Every time I read an article like this, I start tearing up, thinking of the episodes of Buffy that touched me the most. There's so damn many of them. Buffy had some pretty bad episodes, especially in the first season, but when the show excelled - as it did many, many times - it was easily one of the…
LOL, I can't tell you how many times I've sung "It's a Thin, Thin Line" when it's late at night, I've had a few beers, and I'm all by myself. That is one of the best songs I've ever heard, and it really does a great job of being universal and yet somehow resisting the obvious cliches at the same time.
Every now and then, someone leaves a comment on AV Club that negates the need for anything else to be said, a comment that is nothing short of perfect.
