I remember reading the first couple of issues and not enjoying it. Grant Morrison is a different type of writer, and it took me a while to get used to his rhythms. But by the end, I was a huge fan. I have his collected run in three overzsized hardcover volumes of New X-Men, LOL. I consider him one of the greatest.

I couldn't agree with you more about True Blood. First of all, the metaphor was a ridiculously awkward fit right from the start, but a metaphor for gays falls apart if there are actual gay characters involved, LOL.

I haven't been a regular reader since shortly after the House of M, so I didn't realize just how much the X-Men have fallen. I will say, however, that Brian Michael Bendis seems to do his best work when there's only one or two main characters (Alias, Ultimate Spider-Man, Powers, Daredevil). I was not a fan of his New

When discussing "Fringe", the writer said one of its strengths is "thanks to mythology that actually holds together." I could not agree more. Although the relationships between the characters is probably its best selling point, I was seriously surprised at how the show kept adding to events that happened in the first

I saw the grade before I saw the episode, and I was worried. I generally agree with TV Club's reviews, and I was worried this would be a bad episode. Instead, I loved it. I think you have many valid points, but I really enjoyed the humor, I felt stressed at Diane's willingness to destroy her own reputation over a

Thank you. While We Were Young really kind of hit me hard, and I feel embarassed sometimes at how much music means to me, and I don't know why. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who gets hit so hard by certain songs. And While We Were Young really is just unexplainably good.

I'm buying the album tomorrow, but I heard "While We Were Young" a few days ago, and personally, I think it's one of the best songs I've ever heard. There's something about the combination of the lyrics and her voice that really resonates with me. I haven't even heard any of the songs on the album other than this one

I have to admit, I bought the DVD as soon as it finally became available on Amazon.

That was brilliant! But that would require a real world explanation for why Gemma would think pounding a basting fork into Tara's head over and over again just for shits and giggles would make anyone think, "Why yes, I can see why she would react in that way."

He spread his arms out to be crucified on the bike that just kept magically driving straight into The Shield's truck, and you had a problem with wine-soaked bread? OK, yeah, valid point and completely agree with you 100%. Everything about the final few minutes was so overblown, it made me sad. Some of the series was

I guess I'll be in the minority, but I've watched the first movie 10+ times. I can't even tell you why I love it so much, I just do. So yeah, I'll be watching the second one.

And yes, I realize it's redundant to use "bizarre" and "religious" in the same phrase, but I was trying to be nice to the more sensitive ones in our studio audience.

Can someone please explain to me why ABC Family or Freeform or whatever it decides to be named three Tuesdays from now has to keep broadcasting the 700 Club? I've never understood that. I realize it's in the contract written in 1743, but what prevents them from just saying fuck it and moving to another channel or

This just makes me sad. The police are making themselves look worse than Tarantino ever could. This actually reads like one of the more brilliant Onion pieces, close enough to the truth to make you feel uncomfortable, but just far enough from it to make you relieved and giggle nervously. The fact that this isn't an

I was in Circuit City one day, looking through the racks of CDs, when I saw a debut album on sale for $5.99. I didn't know the group, had never heard any of their songs, and didn't even know what type of music they sang, but I bought the CD because it had three of the best looking guys I'd ever seen in my life on the

I couldn't agree with you more. I really liked season one, season two was noticeably better, and then it all went downhill in season 3. And holy shit, the writing on the 6th season finale. That beginning monologue was excrutiating, and it only got worse. Nothing in this episode made any sense from a logical point of

I wanted to come up with something biting yet witty, but JFC, this just sounds like every other pilot ABC has made in the last five years, only with suspenders because, yeah.

You nailed it with the headline. I have the soundtrack, and with a possible couple of exceptions, every song is great.

I'm going to listen to it now. Thanks for the suggestion!

Agreed.
