“This is a tough Game of Pennies, requiring thousands of good ideas to improve part cost, a factory process or simplify the design, while increasing quality and capabilities. A great idea would be one that saves $5, but the vast majority are $0.50 here or $0.20 there.”

When the first airplanes were invented, how many airports were there? When the first train was invented how many train stations were there? When Bell patented the telephone, how many telephone poles were there? When the first car was made, how many miles of road were there? Capitalism will find a way...

Well, you did end up marrying her...haha ;)

Who wants a brand new K-Car in 2020??? For that one person...NP...the rest of us...why oh why...lol

My friend had a B2600 a few years back, yah, hard to see them anymore even here in SoCal. Fun fact: the G54B is the same block I have in my Starion as in the B2600 ;)...but you probably already knew that...lol

Lately I haven’t seen many G30 vans for sale...

LOL, my dad had the GMC version of that truck but in white when I was a kid. It does drive nice...but not $75K nice.

How do you like it? I was looking at one too but ended up with a ‘00 Beetle ($2k, what can I say...lol) There was a Boxster in the mix too...

Noooo! Not the B2000s...when I was 18 a coworker pulled up in a lowered show spec one...had the fully articulating bed too.

Whew, I’m glad I never like this body style. The front just looks like it is sad and lonely...lol

I learned this from a family friend who was a mechanic: in a pinch, you can use bar soap to plug a leaking gas tank. I keep a bit of copper wire, 16ga or better, in my toolbox to temporarily tie things down, away or to hang the brake calipers. It’s kinda like reusable zip ties...oh and zip ties too...lol

GoWesty or Go Home...haha

Nice, I learned to drive stick when I was 16 on my cousin’s beige 720, it was so fun to learn on it...lol

You can’t get away from your true nature, you just can’t stop yourself from getting into the dirt ;)

TBH, the only old little trucks I like are the Datsuns, the 620, 720 and the D21. The 620 and the D21 Hardbodies in extended cabs and the 720 in the regular cab. But only the shapes, the engines on all are pretty weak...unless you get a V6 Hardbody.

Everyone wants Marty McFly’s truck, I think that has something to do with the prices on these things. You can find a lot of these on the road here in SoCal, there’s one just down the street in better condition than this that someone uses as a DD.

Although this has less miles than my ‘98 Tacoma (by like 200k...lol) and is way better condition, I wouldn’t go for this at $7500. I just don’t need a nice truck...haha

It really does work out to time. 100K on a 5 year old car is nothing. 100K on a 20 year old car is another. All the old cars I have bought have plastics that are like Panko. Paint starts to fade and the electric parasites infiltrate. This is when the major services are due, like timing belts, water pumps, starters,

Neutral: Working on my ‘03 Ram 3500 and ‘00 Beetle. Not looking forward to the timing belt service on my ‘13 MDX in 20K miles...saw the vids and I might pay someone to do it...lol
