I thought the issue was not that cops are more likely to shoot black people, but they’re more likely to stop them. The shooting thing is very equal opportunities, so yay?

I’ll stick with what I said when this was announced as this week’s choice - great script, fantastic cast, terrible movie...
“Liberalism is a mental disorder and I’m damn sure glad that I’m not dumb shit.”
Not necessarily...
Ah, Mystery Men - great script, fantastic cast, terrible movie...
Ye gods and little fishes, that voice-over on “Alpha” is really, really horrible.
The whole principle of autopilot seems fundamentally batshit. “Relax, but stay 100% alert,” is not doable, and even if it was, what’s the point?
We had a similar case in the UK a few years back. The surprising thing was that Peter Tatchell, a gay activist of the first order, ended up supporting the bakers on the grounds that he didn’t want a gay baker to be forced to make a homophobic cake under the same ruling (iirc).
Lol - the headline reminds of that story from the Islamic Onion-like site. I’m paraphrasing, but it was something like ‘A stunned Syria rejoices as man manages to die of old age.’
My magic show: “Now, this is a very old trick. However, it’s neither incontinent nor slightly racist. So... better than your gran.”
If I get cancer, I’m never sure whether my t-shirt will say “fuck cancer” or “fuck, cancer”. Maybe both; one on the back, one on the front.
I think it’s more a euphemism for “no one got to do their best work because the set was toxic”. “Having fun” is part of acting - or should be. That doesn’t mean necessarily having a laugh or cracking up every five seconds - it means being in a supportive environment where you get to explore and experiment.
I don’t disagree, but levels are levels nevertheless.
And if that happens to Freeman, then he (hopefully) gets the book thrown at him. If, on the other hand, it becomes clear that what we’re talking about is low-level harassment, then that’s how it should be dealt with.
No, I very much assume it does. That’s rather my point.
It sounds on the milder end of the spectrum tbh, and more like an old man now out of his time - aka there but for the grace of god...
I dunno. I’m still struggling with my response to CK, so I can well imagine the trouble Silverman is having. All I can say, is don’t give her a hard time for having complicated feelings about it.
It sucks if you want to watch a lot of films, but I always find something that I’m happy enough to have on. What really sucks is their interface.
She did a shitty thing, and there’s no getting away from that, but this has nothing to do with the wider reality. You might as well say that, because some scumbag lied about losing someone on 9/11, the towers never fell.
