Doing a 7 day Disney Cruise this summer. Taking my family of 5, and you are right, it's definitely not cheap. We knew it would be expensive, but it's a one-time thing to celebrate my wife graduating from dental school. The kids had better love it though.

This is my cheap go-to. I'm actually going on a Carnival Cruise next week for less than 40/night. I get to the departure port using airmiles from Alaska, which isn't terrible.(25k miles plus 10 bucks or so with high availability of seats)

You can do what I did. Churn out some miles, stay in tampa 1 night, head out on a 5 day cruise of your choice (I did Grand Cayman+Cozumel), stay in Tampa the next night and then fly back to NJ. Had a great time and was kind on the wallet.

I just booked a 7 day trip for two people to Mexico at an all-inclusive for $1900. There were cheaper resorts but we have been to this one before so decided to play it safe. I saw prices as low as $1400 for a couple with travel dates out into late Feb.

Never been on a cruise! But whenever I've looked into it, the prices are indeed cheaper than expected.
