I know the character is American, but the actor playing him is famous in part for a distinctive voice and accent, as deployed in the roles of Khan, Smaug, etc.

Winter soldier was a decent thriller. If they struck that tone, I’d be happy enough. I don’t need to see Romanov’s journey from the dark side, though I am bummed that they seem to be suggesting in the movies that she’s fairly young. In the comics she’s an ageless super-soldier like Steve Rogers.

There’s no reason why a standalone movie would have to address her past, since it’s already been raked over, depicted and referred-to in both Avengers movies.

Darkish trunks would solve the issue, suggesting the classic form of the costume without being bright yellow budgie-smugglers like Chris Reeve’s.

The kids love a congressional hearing.

Just for mentioning Luthor... I’ve always suspected kinja was in the service of a supervillain.

He was so good. Smallville wasn’t perfect but Rosenbaum’s performance was, and it had my favourite characterisation of Luthor: More criminal than scientist but with a keen interest in science as a means to an end.

I’m not even casually familiar with most of this stuff, I just recall that for years it would pop up with some regularity on the news that UK military acquisitions had been made more expensive than they needed to be because of special modifications, leading to cost overruns and maintenance bottlenecks and so-on.

I suppose the UK govt will add some non-standard bullshit to the spec which favours some british supplier of military widgets and drives up the price. They like doing that.
