I’ve been doing F&I for almost 30 years. The best chance for getting a fair rate is with a credit union. Dealers often don’t mind this because secondary finance sources often charge large acquisition fees that cannot be passed along to the customer. No fees, customer gets car that might help them re-establish: win/win.

I would love to have a Komodo Kamado, but that’s just too much. I could probably justify some of the extra cost toward it’s ornamental value, and perhaps I’d consider it if I were younger (rationalizing the years of use), but in the end I consider it a luxury purchase, one that I’d rather spend the funds on elsewhere.
