Oh yeah, I understand the reasoning behind it for sure. I’m even totally fine with it, but sometimes I wouldn’t mind a Nintendo game with PS5-quality graphics.

While I would love to have a Nintendo console that’s got the power of the PS5 or better, at this point I don’t think Nintendo’s even developing systems with processing power or graphics in mind.

I’m fine with it mind you, I just wouldn’t mind them trying to actually keep up with the technological advancement that other

I look forward to not playing it in 2028 or whenever the hell it comes out then, I guess?

That seems about right for the standard console release cycle. I’m still probably going to stay a Sony/Nintendo (sometimes PC) gamer, but I’d expect Sony to release a PS6 around that time too.

Thank you for the reminder that I need to revisit my streaming services and cancel any that I’m not actively using...

A reminder that I totally won’t forget about by the time I get off work today like I always do... no, of course not.

Sounds like this one was tailored specifically to your tastes!

It is a literal garbage fire for everyone affected by it. Part of me hopes this is the death knell for Unity but at the same time I feel for every developer who is affected. I know a few of them, one of whom is trying to find a non-Unreal alternative for his 2D pixel games because he isn’t keen on trying to learn

But I -didn’t- say they should complete them right this second. I said if they can’t swap to a new system right this second, they should work to finish the project they ARE working on and then look into a new system (or do it in tandem). I think you’re reading what I’m saying to interpret it the way you -want- to

I’ve got a few of those in my house already, both of which my wife bought me lol.

There were a few standouts that impressed/excited me, but for the most part this State of Play was kind of a snooze-fest.

Might have tempted me if the statue wasn’t Sephiroth.  Love him as a villain; do not want a statue of him chilling in my house.  Give me Red XIII or Cait Sith and then we’d be talking.

Are you intentionally misreading my messages? Let me rephrase it for you. If a studio can’t immediately change to a new engine (due to prior experience with it etc) they should work with what they have and start working on learning another engine while they do that. It’s a lot of work, yes. I’m not saying it’s easy,

I wasn’t implying it was a small thing. I was saying the only way forward is to use another engine, even if that means learning a new system. Finish projects that you can’t afford to swap to a new engine right this second, but work on learning another system in the interim so that you can toss Unity to the curb as

Obviously each dev should make decisions based on their situation, but my point was that death threats aren’t an acceptable response to this sort of bullshit from Unity.  If you can’t stop using Unity for this project, finish the project and move on to a new system.

Good god, Unity’s fucking up but ffs death threats are not the answer.  Just stop using their engine.

It’s completely baffling. Never could have seen it coming. Wow. Wild. Incredible.

Sarcasm aside, SE has been pretty blind to what fans of their games actually want for a very long time for the most part.

The more I hear about Starfield, the happier I am about my decision to buy BG3 instead of it. I’ve been enjoying my time in it a few hours at a time, and not once have I been bored while exploring Larian’s game world. Starfield sounds like Bethesda took inspiration from No Man’s Sky, executed its ideas in a worse way,

I know this is going to cover Rondo of Blood, but the game leads directly into Symphony of the Night.  I really hope they carry the whole story through.

I’m so excited for this.  SotN was my favorite of the games and if they give it the same amount of love the first series was given, I’m in for the long haul.

Yes, I will totally believe the man carefully talking about exclusivity when his corporate overlords at Microsoft are listening and totally wouldn’t hold him over the coals if he said he wanted it not as an exclusive. Surely he couldn’t be talking out of a requirement to praise Microsoft at all.

I’ve got very little
