The first game is cool but kinda boring to play. I ended up watching a YouTube playthrough before getting into AW2.

Neil Newborn’s genuine reaction to receiving his award makes it all worth it imo. But yeah they could do so much better.

Kinda like what others have been saying but I think it has to do with context.

“You aren’t enjoying the game? Well, have you tried enjoying it instead?”

I’m gonna guess this “content” will take the form of a rep/currency grind

Shadow of War wasn’t a live service game either, but it was still one of the main games at the center of the “loot box” controversies from a while back.

LOL

They’re just doing the exact same thing Marvel’s Avengers did, cause that worked for them right?

The writer of this article wrote that Amouranth article too...

To add to this, there’s a number of articles on Kotaku in the past month about games industry men though. Matt Mercer, Sam Lake, Pete Hines, Cliff Bleszinski, Xalavier Nelson Jr., and far too many dumbass streamers and youtubers who are also men. So Kotaku is also talking about men way more than they talk about

Huh, i visit PC Gamer every day and i’d have guessed they had quite a few women working there. But according to their staff page out of 25 people only 4 are women (16%). That is quite low. None of them appear to be in senior positions either.

It will definitely be several years after Dragon Age... whenever that comes out.

Maybe they can just focus on making a fun video game now?

I played the entirety of Andromeda and did not recognize the word Kett

Yeah just seems poorly worded. It’s more than likely the Born from a Wish content.

Well Chris Metzen only worked on like... one of those expansions... but now he’s back!

Blizz keeps cranking out the waifus

They’ve been promising to do better for the entirety of Destiny’s lifespan

The game is narratively impenetrable for anyone who doesn’t play regularly. Last time i tried to get into it was Beyond Light (holy shit it’s been 3 years?) and i did a bunch of external research to get caught up on the story (watching hours of lore videos) and was enjoying myself until i hit the inevitable “now grind

The reality is, with their size and the kind of games they want to make it’s nearly impossible without partnering with a huge publisher. The easiest way to get a huge publisher is to let them own you, thus keeping all the profits for themselves. They get a degree of financial security, but give up their autonomy.
