Pretty ironic to read an editorial complaining about sportwriters violating the unwritten rules of HOF selection to punish someone for violating the unwritten rules of football.

We can’t really be sure. So far no one’s ever actually touched Neymar, so we don’t know how durable he might be.

Or get an iPhone and not deal with this bullshit.

The whole car dealership system blows and should be dismantled. It doesn’t serve anyone except the dealers themselves, who are (as we see) crooks.

Give it a few more years. Almost everyone becomes a guy eventually, and I don’t think he’s good enough to become a legend.

Not to be completely off topic, but I just now got the joke in your username.

What is it about adults and thinking that this kind of trite advice is actually helpful for teens dealing with issues of identity, popularity, and social alienation? “It’s cool to not feel cool - Thanks, I’ll remember that next time I’m getting basketballs thrown at my head in gym class.”

This is simply media-induced alarmism. For context, 37 child deaths in the US is less than the number for liver cancer (48), less than a tenth of the number of deaths by suicide (443), and about 2.9% of the number of deaths in car accidents. ‘Case there’s a code of omertà that they all follow. It’s a very us-against-them mindset where, if the other people in your profession and especially on your staff don’t have your back, then no one will. So you don’t say anything about Sandusky or Smith or Nassar or whatever, and when you fuck up, everyone else keeps

The beatings will continue until morale improves!

Yeah, all this really says to me is that many more people want to get paid for playing video games competitively than there is market or interest for, which shouldn’t be surprising.

Call your college’s alumni and career services office. If your liberal arts college is anything like mine, they’ll be absolutely useless at first, but you just have to keep asking until they’re willing to put you in touch with alumni in New York, especially (but not only) other poli sci grads, and ask to meet up for

I think there are several factors.

I’m old enough to remember that this is a terrible idea.

As a right winger, you only have a sense of humor or the ability to detect sarcasm and satire when it allows you and your cronies to avoid accountability.

It’s the old dilemma - is no representation better than a stereotypical but otherwise positive representation?

Punk (and CBGB) sold itself out long before it as coopted by downmarket department stores.

If you’re old enough to be out of college, you’re old enough to not voluntarily clothes with words on them.
