This is a point Matt Yglesias has made previously — the Democrats don’t actually need to win Texas; just reducing Republicans’ margins there enough to force them to campaign there will be devastating.
Veep is not “a more prestigious role” than Senator. Senators can actually get things done, especially if she’s interested in being Majority Leader and setting the agenda.
No, it would not be smart. It would be taking an important and effective senator out of the senate to do a less important job, and weakening the Dems’ tenuous hold on the senate.

I don’t know quite how Democrats expect to make big wins, after ridding their party of liberals. The moderates are more likely to vote Democrat out of loyalty, and there’s no reason to court the conservatives.

BLM is the sole reason these issues are even being discussed on a national level right now. I’d say that validates their methods, however inconvenient they happen to be for political campaigns.
