I agree that there's no excuse for so radically changing Merida's character design just to make her fit in with the more generic glamorized vision of the Disney princesses, and at the end of the day, Merida is really a Pixar princess anyway.

Roads? Where we're going, we don't need... roads.
That depends on the location and size of the private school, as well as its history and reputation. There are obviously some private schools (or more often, charter schools) that do not provide a full range of quality education. But there are also many respected private schools that yes, are religious in their…
Riiiight, because no one ever sends their kids to private religious schools simply because those schools offer a higher quality education than other local public schools — they just do it because they're science-hating zealots. You got it all figured out.
They should have sent up Keroppi the frog instead. I like him better.
"Seam" to be the same thing — I see what you did there?
A very enthusiastic "seconded" with regards to River Song. The sooner she fades away, the better.
In a word, yep.
Yeah, The Hobbit stubbornly rides the line between good and disappointing a little too closely to be on either list
I didn't see a single shot in that trailer that wasn't derivative. Quite a feat.
Regarding the "coming back to Earth" movies of 2013, specifically Oblivion and After Earth, it seems like we'll have more bland, CGI-laden formula films to avoid next year as well.
Unfortunately, it seems that The Hobbit film fails at invoking the more intimate narrative and whimsy of the book due to being stretched out and overblown, while also failing at invoking the epic bombast of the LOTR films due to showing us things we've mostly seen before at a much slower pace.
I'll always have a soft spot for the mecha from Mospeada (aka 3rd Generation Robotech), particularly the transforming armor-cycles.
I'm noticing that almost all the FX scenes in the trailer take place in heavy rain. Sure, this helps in creating a realistic environment, but it also has traditionally been used to fudge some of the more clunky CGI. See also: the 1998 US Godzilla movie.
Wow. Again I say, the 2014 Godzilla is going to have to really go all out to match this.
There seems to be a Daryl kill missing from the chart. The last zombie kill shown in the Season One finale was Daryl using an axe to behead a zombie outside of the CDC before it exploded.
I loved "Q, The Winged Serpent" back in the day. Giant stop-motion feathered snake-dragons snatching topless sunbathers off skyscraper roofs? More please.
The geeks who understood what The Hobbit actually was in relation to LOTR should know better than to nerdrage over such a thing, but you're correct in saying that would then leave the vast majority of the rest of the moviegoing public to wonder about the difference in tone between The Hobbit and LOTR.
Oh yes, we were definitely getting a taste of Jackson's style of over-the-top things to come in certain elements of Return of the King - no argument there. It was a little easier to deal with as part of an already-sprawling trilogy though. By 2005, when we got to the ridiculous vine-swinging battle with the 3 Rexes…
I'm making the challenge right now to any ambitious video editors out there...
