Yes, but my mom was a hawk about finding used ones from other parents who's kids were trading up for me. We were dirt poor but I had a decent Lego stash!

You’re thinking ‘yacht’ like Richard Branson. The boat I lived on was rotten and sank shortly after we left the island. We caught fish for dinner when food ran out. We had no refrigeration. I tell funny stories about childhood and people go silent after a while and I stop.

I don't remember if it was new. Most of my stuff was hand me downs and the new stuff mom wrapped was like socks. She saved up the stuff we needed and wrapped it for Christmas so we'd have lots to unwrap.
