He’s not the first one to do that.  I believe Holzhauer and Arthur Liu (who did this before him) followed the same strategy.  It is sound provided you get them right and you uncover the Daily Double to build a huge lead.  The fact that one of the other contestants got both Daily Doubles in successive tries (and got

Wow, no mention of Howard's role as the Smog Strangler in Seinfeld? You're really testing my patience here AV Club

TIL he was barely out of his teens when he made Rock N Roll High School. Eaglebauer always gave off the “25-year-old who still hangs around the school” vibes.

I tried to cheat at Blackjack once by using a very large Sharpie to mark the backs of cards right there on the table in front of everybody and somehow I got caught and was beaten up in a Vegas alley. This video makes me realize I should’ve been more subtle.

I agree. Yes, he was the director, but it sounds like he didn’t know where he was. All the stories say he’s a real shit to work with, and he aimed it at someone who had the clout to clap back. She is a producer, no? It sucks when someone uses their position to mistreat people, so good for her.

While I was explaining Jeopardy to my young daughter the other day it occurred to me it would be funny if someone’s gimmick was to answer with “is it” rather than the conventional “who/what is”

Diet Scorsese Cola is still better than Pepsi Clear.

Season 2 is really spinning its wheels because there is just so very little conflict in the season, at least in the first half. And just when they start getting anything rolling, they throw in one of their “bonus” standalone episodes that derails whatever tiny momentum the show was finally building.

I thought they were going there with the Dubai Air thing ... presumably alienating your largest sponsor would create some major financial issues. But that (at least for now) seems to have been abandoned. Maybe that storyline will come back.

Preach. This is precisely what I’ve been saying as well. The first season worked because there was a central conflict and a legit (and ultimately conflicted) villain. Ted’s kindness, and the way it rubbed off on the people in his orbit, was so lovely because he was using his kindness to work through genuine conflict.

I guess for me at least, part of it is just how much praise she’s received in the past. I think people are desperate for top billed female comics.

I think the most important thing I’ve learned through this thing is that WAY the fuck more people deeply care about Jeopardy! than I thought.

Just give it to Jennings, jesus, it’s a dumb tweet, still better than Bialik’s victim blaming and hocking junk science (plus being on TBBT, a sin no one can be forgiven of).

As Clint's dad.

Sorry, I’m confused, who hates Wanda’s Uncle Clint?

These shots at Mrs. Bakker are only partly deserved. Yes, she grifted and lived high on the hog for a long while; it was when she finally got away from Jim B. that she began to try to better herself. Before her end she took steps to redeem herself—and she was very public in admitting to her mistakes, and to her

Nice to see Pizza Dog’s in this.

We’ll get to The Andy Dick Story later.

But is there a scene where she locks herself in a bathroom and prays while Ron Jeremy and Vanilla Ice throw a porn star pool party?

If he doesn’t shout OUTRAGEOUS! then this was all for naught.
