Coincidentally, I watched JFK for the first time yesterday, and I thought Rooker gave one of the very best performances. Granted, it was a movie with some arch, silly performances (John Candy, god love him, as a fat jazzbo New Orleans lawyer who uses terms like “daddy-o” was especially ridiculous).

The obvious answer for a Fezzik stand-in is, of course, Brad Garrett. First of all, he’s huge—not to Andre the Giant standards, of course, but he towers above most people. Second, he has that DEEEP, slow-sounding, resonant voice that few could match. He sounds like a frigging giant.
