Have you played Sims 4 yet? It's a real piece of crap even with the patch and bug fixes users have found. That's what EA gives us nowadays. I would rather wait to buy it on Steam where it is heavily discounted than pay $60 on their crappy game client. That would be like paying $60 forMGSV: Ground Zeroes.

I bought two copies of Sims 3 so I think I've overpayed. Sims 4 is like playing Sims on the iPad. In fact, I rather play the Sims on the iPad.
All you need to do to fix it is rename TS4.par to The.Sims.4.Launcher.par, then download VC Redist x64 and x86 from Microsoft, then run the game in Windows Xp compatibility mode 3, then run as administrator. Easy fix that worked for me.
